Has anyone tried contacting FastCap about the problem/flaw with having the splinterguard down?  FastCap is all about continuous improvement so I'm sure they'd love to hear real world feedback.  I'm pretty sure they'd fix the design to eliminate the problem once they became aware of it.

I did just that giving them a heads up. They were very concerned and wanted full details.

I'm sure they appreciate the feedback. One of the best things about FastCap as a company is they will give you your money back if you aren't satisfied. If they really aren't working for you, you could always go that route.

Wow that was quick I just mentioned the possible solution of flipping them (suggested in this thread) over couple days ago!

BTW - in my case three of my 4 rails I was able to use the same holes to flip them over. One I had to redrill because I store my TSO squares on it.

I have been going back and forth on whether to get these or make something.  I just checked their shipping.  I don't really understand why ordering 1 set costs 5.75 to ship and ordering 2 is 14.90 ??? Thats some weird math.  These are plastic right?  And don't weigh much at all ?

Shipping and shipping cost is a big challenge to any online seller and more complex than you would want to know.
Perhaps its helpful in this forum to shed a little bit of light on shipping.

"SHIPPING is FREE ! " - or is it? 
AMAZON has gone a long way to create that expectation aided by driving down what they pay their suppliers, partners and employees according to news reports.

For smaller volume shippers like ourselves, shipping cost is determined by an algorithm determined by our shipping software. It is a function of the package weight and dimensions  programmed into our warehouse management system for every single one of all our SKU's.

A separate Shipper software application links to our e-store application at the time the order is placed and adds the calculated cost to the order at checkout.

It is one of our continuing frustrations that we have not found a Shipper Application which prevents goofy and sometimes outrageous charges - not infrequently to our disadvantage in terms of out-of-pocket cost but also in terms of customer irritation at other times.

In the case of the popular Track Rack, one item may fit into a small Postal Service category package for shipping while two items bump it out of a cost advantaged category.

BTW: of all the different shipping modes we have tried, using the SurePost or SmartPost  UPS or FedEx /Postal Service combination has earned us customer dissatisfaction outweighing the customer the customer cost benefit. The same holds true for Postal Service and Priority Mail. We have gone the dependability versus low-cost route and ship only UPS or FedEx.

We sincerely solicit input regarding known Shipping software. We are already paying hefty monthly SAAS fees.

Yes.

I understand Han's statement but in this case, it would cheaper to order QTY=1, twice, which shouldn't have to be done.  I didn't want to beat it to death but I thought the comparison was weird and shipping costs has always been a pet peeve of mine.

Hate to dig up such an old thread, but I was thinking of getting some of these fastcap track racks. I want to mount the fs/3000 to it and seems like this would work perfect for it. I do have an insulated garage door. Is there anything I should be aware of before I screw them to to the door (other than making sure the screw doesn't go all the way through).

Might want to plan to get the garage door spring readjusted after the weight increase. Also with the 3000 being so long you might want to use three or four of these for that track.
