Somewhere, I really don't know where, but somewhere I had seen the part number 483922 referred to an adjustable trammel for the OF-1400. Was only a few pounds so I thought, why not replace that bit of worn out ply and get something a little more professional.

Only just tried it today as I had the router out and couldn't be bothered with setting up the Carvex to cut a couple of circles, plus it's been on the shelf for a while and ought to be tried, but it doesn't fit.

You're going to say, yes, that part number doesn't fit that particular router dummy. But I'll stick to my guns here and say I didn't make this up, I definitely got the idea that it fit the OF 1400 from somewhere. So, I dig out the packaging and it seems to have changed from what Festool are saying now on their website.

According to website, it's for OF 900, OF 1000, OF 1010, KF.

See the attached (if I've figured this out) and tell me where I am going wrong.

I have the same part number here, and it fits just fine in my 1010 and 1400 routers, unless I don't understand where it is supposed to go!

Yep, that's where I am trying to put it. Does yours tighten ok? Mine's loose and doesn't appear to be thick enough to tighten properly.

What, you want it to tighten too..??!!  :o

Well, mine does NOT tighten fully on either side in the 1400 router, the trammel can easily be moved even when the knob is fully tightened down. Hmmmmm, maybe Festool can chime in on this one!

Works great on the 1010 router.

Ah good, thought I was going insane.

Added is the fact that the part number no longer matches to the OF 1400 any more.

Yes on my US dealers site, the only trammel (same part #) is listed for the 1010 only - but then again it does list the 1400 on the package.  ???

IIRC, the rods are smaller for the 1010 than the 1400 (going from memory here). Also, the 1400 tightens down on both rods at the same time. You might try putting a rod in the other channel to see if it takes up some of the tightening slack. I do not know if it would need to be the same diameter as the trammel rod or not. With the 1400 design the tightening mechanism is tightening over air when there is not a second rod in that side and it may not be able to cinch properly up without somthing there. This may be why Festool de-listed the 1400.

WE HAVE A WINNER! This works great!!

Excellent. It's raining here, and dark. I'll try it tomorrow.

Thanks all for your help.
