Transfer of Stewardship of the Festool Owner's Group

While I came late to the party, thanks for getting it going and it's what it is by your efforts.  This is one pig pile I like jumping on!

Matthew, After all your hard work putting this forum together you deserve the time to sit back and enjoy the great forum that you created.
We thank you.
Bob

I'd like to echo what everyone else has said, thanks Matthew. We all appreciate the time and energy you've put into making this one of the very best forums on the net. I wish you luck with whatever you pursue in your spare time, now that you'll have some.

I'd also like to add that I'm excited to see what the future brings for the FOG. It's up to us, the membership, to take the FOG into the future in a positive way that will make Matthew, Festool and ourselves proud.

What can be added to what has already been well said, but THANKS Matthew.

I couldn't agree more, Brice.

This forum is a valuable resource, and I'd like nothing more than to see it get better and better.

Congratulations Matt,

Now you can sit back and enjoy your creation!

That is why I create things out of wood. So I can sit back and enjoy using them.

Again, I would like to thank you for having the vision, the perseverance and the generosity with your time money and sweat to have started and maintained the FOG. The FOG has been a valuable resource for customers, dealers and Festool. You were the pioneer. [snip] I wish you all the best and am glad to see you will remain a member.

Same for me.  Thanks for putting it so well, Bob.

Regards,

John

Vaya con Dios Matthew.  Ya done good.

This seems to be a good news, bad news situation.

The good news is direct participation of Festool.  So hopefully some healthy two-way dialogue will occur.

The bad news is that Festool is in charge -- FOG is no longer going to be independent.

Can Festool handle criticism?  Or will FOG just become a thinly-disguised marketing venue, full of spin and hype?

Time will tell.

Let me add my thanks for doing a great job! This forum has answered a lot of questions, provided new ideas and helped me grow as a woodworker. I find it very encouraging that Festool has embraced this forum and its principles and look forward to the future.

Thank you Mathew for your quest to make this a successful forum.  This forum has far exceeded my expectations and has helped grow my knowledge of the product line from the time I have joined.

Good Luck to you

Matt!

We will miss you and a great big thanks for all your hard work!

To the Group!

Brice is right, it's up to us to take the group and go where we feel we should be.
With Festool in the command chair I hope some of the tool related snags can be worked out faster!
Avoiding some of the confusion related to new releases and technical specs.
Clean up the part numbering and description issues that abound here.
And, as always, have a great time with the best Tools on the planet!!!

Matthew, thank you for all your efforts to bring the forum where it is today. After starting my PC in the morning and checking the e-mails, it is my first port of call. It is a great way to be in contact with woodworkers from all over the world. And it is an immense source of wisdom, experience and inspiration.
I hope your spirit will guide the new moderators.

Thanks Matthew for all your hard work getting us here - I can't imagine how many hours you must have put in.
Sounds like the change will be a healthy one. Thanks Festool and moderators for taking the baton on the next lap.
Matthew, I hope you will continue to contribute - looking forward to some pics of your projects!

Thanks, Matthew, for your vision and countless hours of hard work setting up and administering FOG, and overcoming the many frustrations you undoubtedly encountered.  I have benefited from participation in FOG in numerous ways, including increasing my knowledge of Festool products, woodworking in general, and made several new friends through FOG and we continue to learn from one another, and as winner of an ETS 150/3 which continues to serve well.  I would not have purchased some of the Festool products I now own except for the reviews and comments of FOG members including your own reviews.  I also want to thank you for frequently going extra miles for me to teach me how to post photos (I also thank the other FOG members who also helped me in this.), and for enabling me to attend the first FestoolUSA "fantasy camp" in Nevada which enabled me to meet the leaders of FestoolUSA and learn more about Festool products from them.  Best wishes to you and your family in whatever you choose to do.  I hope you will remain an active participant in this forum, and can enjoy its benefits as a owner/enthusiast without the burden of being administrator.  Yours is a fine legacy.
