Here is my first FLIP cam you tube attempt.  it is my work trailer at a jobsite.  it shows some of the ideas that i use in Transporting my festool collection.

The Vid is very jumpy and the audio tends to run ahead of it.

Thanks Craig

Craig, nice use of space.  I was very hesitant to switch to systainers at first, but I've come around. ( I have about 2 doz that are used outside of Festool's original intent)  I like your use of colored latches, for identification purposes, I assume.

Dan

That's pretty slick, Craig.

I like the way you arranged everything for ease of use as well as use of space.

It looked like you had sort of a bulkhead between your DW tile saw and the rest of the area. Does that keep all the slurry out of the front of the back? My cheapo tile saw tends to cause a bit of slurry (or water depending on how clean I keep it) to be thrown forward of the pan.

As a trailer owner for 7 years - how do you do it.  I have stuff that flops around spills off of shelves, etc.  I currently have 8 feet of shelving that is getting ready to collapse.  Help!  Any advice?

Peter

Thanks Dan,The color latches are for just that.

Tom, The entire trailer is built around
1 The wet saw station.  i built the splash guard (bulkhead) with 1" clearance when the wet saw table is fully under the blade, and 1" in front of the doors when stored.  i also put in a 2"lip from the across the open area. Then I had Line X waterproof the entire back area.  the saw is mounted on a steel box with with a 10 gal rough tote water tank under it.  (i can drop a heater in there for when it gets cold (I do run anti freeze to keep the lines clear) all I have to do to cut, 13" and less, is plug in the trailer.
2 The Rubbermaid big wheel.   I use 18 gal totes for trash, mortar and whatever, the big wheel can haul systainers, totes,  material and even the wet saw to remote areas quickly,  it is 32" wide and will fit in 36" doorways no problem.  It hangs on the left wall right across from the door  (and can be in or out in a min)  my grout bucket and ProKnees sit below it.

3 The sys racks. ( I will give a short rundown on making them in a different post)  The one by the door is for my most used kits and has the compressor on top. Shifting to the SYStem ;D allows me to pack so much into a small space and have what I need at hand.  The Key to this concept is the notion of a KIT. Everything you need for a task is in the kit.  If you need a single tool in many kits  either Keep it with your screw kit (as you will almost always have that one with you) or just have several copies of that tool,  This way you have what you need to complete your task when you grab the kit.

I was very interested to see the Makita scms, is it the  LS0714L? I am looking for a SCMS that will do the things accurately that are too narrow for the TS55 and the LS0714 or LS0714L seem to be the perfect one.

What are its main jobs and any more infomation would be appreciated.

Yes it is the LS0714 (non lazer :(  wanted one though)
It sits on the work table that was at the beginning of the video I "adjusted" wet-saw stand to work with the X horses to support trim.

The little saw is a DREAM!!!
At 27 lbs and 2x12 cut cap.  The blade is so small that deflection (runout) is a nonissue, it creates 1/2 the dust of any other saw (think 1/16" vs 1/8" kerf). with vac i took a 1x12 particle board shelf made 25 cuts in a confined area and scooped up less than a table spoon of dust (i think i will make a video of that ;) ) Base and casing run well on the flat.  I don't do enough crown to make any statement.  For case and base in a home the ability to Take this saw with you "room to room" gives it an edge.  This saw fits into my paradigm high quality tools that can be easily transported and deployed, inside clients homes.  I have a couple of 5/15 bolts through the shelf and one has a butterfly nut to secure it.

hi charimon. that is a very cool setup you have.
what size is your trailer?
it must be twice the size of mine!
mine is 6 feet long x four feet wide.

btw, can you confirm what trade you are?
i dont see many tilers with dropsaws down under,
and i dont see many chippies with tile cutters and wet saws!

regards, justin.

The Trailer is a 6x12V nose 80"inside,  it is a tandem axle with brakes on both axles.  The axles have been set so the center of the back axle is 26" from the back edge,  so i can set a ton of tile right at the rear door without unbalancing the trailer.

I specialize in Tile and Bathrooms,   counter top installation and cabinetry are working their way into my core (this is what got me into Festool),

Craig:

I think you nailed it for the wheel size. Great choice!

Where do you get the sweaters?

Tom

hi charimon, thanks for the video. that is an awesome setup you have!
any chance you could take some video of the whole trailer, in and out.
i really like the idea of walking through a trailer.
i need to upgrade fast!!

regards, justin.

If you do, please post it - I'd like to see it! I have a small Elektra Beckum (nee Metabo) SCMS I take to jobsites and it's a good saw but the dust collection is terrible; a Makita may be the answer...

Cheers, Pete.

Craig, I'm must not be a cart kind of guy because I'm not sure how I'd use it. So how do you use the bib wheeled cart?

BTW, great sweater. ;D

Peter I will make one tomorrow.

Brice.  I started using a big wheel on a 12 story remodel/ condo project we used it for hauling trash, material, tools...... because it will roll through a 36 in doorway  I use it a lot in light commercial work it also works great in transporting tools around to the backyard basement door.

By the way my sweater covers the body of a god...........BUDDA ;D ;D ;D
