Just received my new MFK700 from Bob Marino (thanks Bob, speedy service, as always) and have a question.  The dust port on the base is much smaller than the 27mm hose end.  Is there an adaptor I need to buy to use the CT22 with it, or is there a different hose?  The dust hood that goes on the bottom of the base does work w/ the 27mm hose after attaching the swivel adapter, but what do you do with the open port on the base then?

Don't see anything in the manual about it, no surprise there!

Thanks.

Fred,

From your descriptions of the various components, I hope I understand you correctly. The "swivel" adapter is used for doing rabbets and other edge work to catch the debris being ejected from the edge of the material.

The dust extraction port on the vertical base should fit the inner diameter of your 27mm hose.

I recently had a job that I had to trim laminate in the above configuration. The 27mm hose is squeezed into the rotating plastic fitting and I did notice intermittent bursts of dust coming out of the open port. When I remembered I just put a finger over the open port while routing. Dust collection in this setup was about 75% I think mainly due to the various width of overlap I was dealing with.

Thanks guys.  Boy was that dumb question, but thanks for not pointing it out [laughing].  For some reason when I looked at it it just seemed like it was a totally different size.

Must have been because on all the other tools that have a dust port that slips into the ID of the 27mm hose the port is black plastic and the router base is gray metal.  Yeah, that's it - that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving.
