Pardon my profoundly ignorant question.  How does the PS300 fit into the Guide Stop?  The guide stop seems to be too narrow for the saw and I am reluctant to force it.

unfortunately it doesn't quite.  It is just a little too little.  I guess I can try to force it.  Hoped there was some trick to it.

I don't have the PS300, but I have the PS2E and guide rail base.  And I believe for both it's supposed to be a pretty good snug fit.

That way when you use the guide rail and jigsaw together, you get a nice straight cut.  The tight fit is necessary or you'd get some "wavy" cut effect as the jigsaw rattled around in the guide stop.

Probably, like many Festool fittings, it needs a little more "coaxing" the first few times (Plug-It cords come to mind).  Once you do it a few times it'll seem easier.

Many thanks to Tom [big grin].  He got me looking very carefully at the saw and I realized that when I set it back to 90° (I had been cutting some bevels) that I didn't get the locating pin fully in the slot so the base plate was at a very slight angle.  It was just enough so that the high side would not fit.  Fixed that and the saw firs into the guide stop like it should.

Hi guys,

does it mean that it's impossible to cut with an angle along the rail?  [crying]
