Trion vs. stationary bandsaw

I've got an older Bosch jigsaw which does a pretty good job at curves but am now thinking of getting a bandsaw to cut out things like chair legs. I want to keep my shop easily moveable and shy away from any benchtop or stationary tools. Not interested in doing any re-sawing just yet but is the Trion that much better than my older Bosch?

  Mark, I don't have the Trion, but I replaced my older Bosch jigsaw with the new model. The new Bosch is a way better tool than the old one. So the answer is likely yes, the Trion will be much better than your old saw.

Mark, i have had the Trion ( barrel one ) for a number of years and although i am not using it a lot in my job i am always amazed at its power and precision every time i do use it. Whith the proper blade there is nothing that you cannot saw. Under the table it is incredibly precise and easy to follow a line. Dust collection excellent. I use it also in conjunction with a rail when i do not have my TS with me and that gives you a splinterfree straight line.  I have an old Bosch ( quite old actually ) which i use a lot for dirty jobs and frankly there is no competition.

I've got the Trion PS 300 EQ (the most recent USA version in the barrel formfactor), and I compared it to the 1591EVSK (the most recent Bosch jigsaw).

They're both terrific tools. It's amazing how much better they were than my admittedly-10-year-old jigsaw(s).

The Trion was more strongly built and felt more powerful than the Bosch, and had "dust collection" instead of "dust blowing". That being said, the Bosch had much better bevel adjustment, it even had useable degree markings and (if I remember properly) detents at the usual angles.
