As they can come extra tall and extra long... number are a bit varied.... a dealer/owner said "I (he) have been selling sprinters since 2003. I am currently driving one and the first tank was about 25 mpg. 99% of my customers have never gotten less then 20 mpg and a bunch say they get up to 30 mpg.
These are number with them carrying 1.5 tons of stuff.
One guy I know runs from Iowa to Canada and it is still not broken in it only has 15,000 miles on it and he is getting 23 mpg pushing winter northwest winds travel north.
And HVAC guy I use went from a pickup to the Sprinter. He told me in the metro he was filling up once every two days with the pickup...now once a week same tank. Plus he can load 3 home HVAC units in it at once. He is now doing runs up to ND to install once or twice a month. He says his profits are way up due to lower overhead with the Sprinter. Also it has at least a 500,000 mile life if maintained.
The only complaint I have heard from Sprinter owners is why didn't they get one sooner.
Cheers,
Steve
