Truck bedslide. Any one have one?

As they can come extra tall and extra long... number are a bit varied.... a dealer/owner said "I (he) have been selling sprinters since 2003. I am currently driving one and the first tank was about 25 mpg. 99% of my customers have never gotten less then 20 mpg and a bunch say they get up to 30 mpg.

These are number with them carrying 1.5 tons of stuff.

One guy I know runs from Iowa to Canada and it is still not broken in it only has 15,000 miles on it and he is getting 23 mpg pushing winter northwest winds travel north.

And HVAC guy I use went from a pickup to the Sprinter. He told me in the metro he was filling up once every two days with the pickup...now once a week same tank. Plus he can load 3 home HVAC units in it at once. He is now doing runs up to ND to install once or twice a month.  He says his profits are way up due to lower overhead with the Sprinter. Also it has at least a 500,000 mile life if maintained.

The only complaint I have heard from Sprinter owners is why didn't they get one sooner.

Cheers,
Steve

Jon, this is the first BedSlide I bought.  I think I got this Bedslide in 2004.  It was the Contractor's Model, which at the time was the beefiest one they made.  I also looked at a brand called "Extendo-Bed", but I felt like the BedSlide was good enough for what I needed.

I have had way over the rated weight on this, many times, and nothing has gone wrong yet. It's well made, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one if I bought another truck.

Finally scored a bedslide on craigslist.  It took some time, but it was worth the wait!  I can't believe how easy it is to unload and pack up at the end of the day.

Some pics of the setup.  I really only lost a few inches width, but I basically haven't changed how I load my truck.

One problem, my new iPhone won't let me upload attachments on this website.  So take my word for it, it's awesome.

I'm glad that you are happy with your set up.Makes life a whole lot easier!
I sold my truck and got into a company van. It's working out ok but still a PITA to get in and out.  and it does get loud!

I finally built a double sliding truck bed for my 09 Dodge Ram as I just recently installed a cab-hi shell. The cost for the manufactured units are ridiculous and they do not make a double stack. I will post pics hopefully this weekend. Turned out great and does not have to be screwed to the truck. I increased my truck bed from 66 inches deep to 198 inches, good thing for the rear air bags in the suspension  :o.

Please post pics. I'm  in same situation .  How do you carry 4x8 sheets of ply?  I know some shells have roof racks but weight could be an issue.

Sorry it took so long to post pics. I have since as of this week sold this truck (09 Dodge fully loaded) and have gone to a Ford 7.3 diesel and an enclosed trailer which matched the 09 Dodge. I miss the Dodge but not the gas mileage.

how the heck are you going to use that space?! why didn't you opt for the cap side doors?

I didn't want the truck to look like a work truck. I still had full access to everything on the shelves just roll them out.
