I have found a sale on the true postion drill guide TP 2000 model, $499.00  re price 599.00... My question is has anyone used any version of the true postion guide setups or should I consider the LR 32 setup with a 55" Guide rail for $ 550 instead.
I am going to be doing a wall unit for a customer with many adjustable shelves and I think it time to consider a method for use for this project and with luck others to follow like it.
I have always used a masonite jig for this on other cabinets so its time to grow up some
It seems to me the LR32 is the way to go particularly with the 55" rail .
So anyone got a thought on this,

Sal

I had the same problem and almost bought the LS32 but then got a used Haefle Variantool on the cheap.

If you are ready to spend $500 I would probably go for the Festool. I didn't like any of the other drill guides (Leigh,....) as much as the Festool. If you can get the Haefle for much less than the LS32 it might be an alternative. Other than that I think the versatility of the LS32 (use as guide rail, Domino on LS32,......) system is worth the extra cost.

you might also want to consider the mafell duo-dowel machine, when used in conjunction with their dowel template you could drill the shelf holes and the machine could also be used for dowel joint construction of the cabinets, depending on the model it drills 3-16 mm holes,a bit more than you were planning to spend, but an investment i think.

If your going to spend that much money I would continue on with the Festool system and buy the LR32.

Otherwise I would just buy a jig-it form Rockler or someone else.
