This is my first post, but I've been gathering all kinds of great information on the site. I've got a problem....
Dropped my TS-55 off my MFT the other day onto the concrete floor (yes, already bought some floor mats). It landed on the protruding splinter guard. Broke the guard and the blade housing. I ordered and replaced both, but I've noticed that the riving knife is misaligned. It catches slightly as it begins into the kerf and it seems to drag through the entire cut. I am assuming it was bent in the fall, and plan to replace it as well.
What I'm wondering about is this: With every cut I make now, regardless of the board width or depth, the blade seems to gouge into the in feed side of the cut a mil or so, but just as the back of the blade is leaving the cut. The rest of the cut appears fine. It's as though the toe in on the blade is slightly splayed outward or something like that. I'm wondering if a misaligned riving knife could cause this type of thing or whether I might have a larger issue. The blade does not appear to be warped in any way.
I've looked at the supplemental guide by Rick Christopherson, but the symptoms he provides adjustments for don't seem to match my problem. I'd love to get some feedback/suggestions about what might be wrong. Thanks!
