TS 55 FEQB-Plus plus compatibility with CMS TS-55 module

Hello,

I just bought a CMS TS-55 module for my CMS table.
Browsing the Festool website, TS 55 FEQB-Plus technical specifications claim that this model is not compatible with the CMS module.

What is the reason for this ? Has anyone managed to adapt this model to the CMS table, and if so how ?
Any advice is more than welcome !

The new TS 55 F series of saws have an integrated NVR safety device.
This means they are not practical for use in a table - the external switch will no longer work with them as designed.

Your best bet is a used TS 55.

They are cheaper to get and all the improvements since then were focused on rail use, so for CMS they are equivalent. I would actually argue that the 2.5 mm kerf blade of the original TS 55 is better for the table saw use. It is easier/cheaper to get non-FT blades and they are also slightly more stable compared to the 2.2 (TS 555R or the 1.8 (TS 55 F) blade options.

Also, from practice here on the forum, it is best to dedicate a TS saw for the CMS module. The install/remove cycles get tiring fast.

There were two CMS modules, the CMS TS 55 and the CMS TS 55 R. You need to match the saw to the module type.

If you have the CMS TS 55 modules, then the REBQ is not an option.

Do you know which spare parts can turn a CMS TS 55 module (the one I have) into a CMS TS 55 R variant and whether such spare parts are still available ?

Just for future reference, this does not seem to be true. At least my TS 55 FEBQ works with the external switch. I guess that is because you cannot lock it on, you have to pull the switch all the time. Routers that have the locking work as you described.

I've been looking for a CMS-GE and CMS-OF for a while. Last week a set with both the router plate and saw plate (TS 55 R) turned up (and everything was completely unused). I bought it and noticed that remote switch works with the saw. There are, however, two other issues with the saw. Firstly, there is no hole for attaching the depth adjuster. Luckily there is still a place for the hole so one is easily drilled. Secondly, one cannot use the riving knife that comes with the CMS-TS 55 R as it is too thick. This means that blade cover cannot be used either. Furthermore the saw's own riving knife cannot be locked as is in older models. The riving knife still seems to work as it should.

I also have the TS 55 FEBQ saw and I was planning to buy the TS 55 R kit (second hand, for sure)... but I need to confirm first if these kits fit with the plate of the TS 55 FEBQ.

Could you confirm if all the main parts of the kit (base, base attachments, and depth lever) fit properly on your saw, and if the only issue you had was a missing hole? (which, as you mentioned, seems as simple as drilling a new one).
