I seem to remember quite long ago reading that the Panther rip blades were notorious for bad cut finish, etc.  I also seem to remember not quite as long ago that those blades were tamed down a bit.  Is my memory correct?  I have one that's about three (3) years old (never been used).  If they did change the cutting geometry are the new ones a different P/N?
Or, did I dream this whole thing?  [unsure]

You're correct, Ron.

The new Panther blade for the TS 55 is 496305. It has a 2.2mm kerf, like all the other TS 55 blades have now. It is more of a hybrid between the previous Standard and Panther blades. The Standard is no longer sold.

Hi,

Is anyone using the new Panther and Fine blade, swapping back and forth on the same rail?  How is it working out with the anti-splinter strip?

Seth

I am changing between the new Panther and the fine blade and not having any issues with one cutting away more of the anti-splinter strip than the other. The new panther finishes pretty nicely, actually.

Wish the consistent kerf between blades would happen for the TS-75 blades.  [blink]

Yup.  I'm not buying one until that happens!  (I used to say that I wouldn't buy Festool until it was available in imperial...)
