TS 55 plate wear

its a shame they dont put a bearing in there. it would solv all these problems  and make sliding the saw easier

     Your plate does not look to be worn to the point of losing adjustment.  I would order two of the adjusting wheels if I were you and just try that for now.  They are a wear item too and would be a cheap and easy thing to try.   The newer bases are nice due to the lower friction on the rail but you may be able to hold off til further down the road.

What do I do when the plate wears down and I run out of adjustment to take out the play on the rails?

I thought the same thing Chris, no way the plate looks too worn.

I know it doesn't look worn much but it ran out of adjustment. The green adjuster knobs don't have much wear. I am curios does anyone know what a replacement base would be and would it have the knew wear strips.

Tim, I had looked it up and as I recall it was $62.83 for the base plate. It should be the current version but service would need to confirm.

Let me add that my first of several TS55 was purchased from Eagle Tools of Los Angeles in January 2006.

I have not needed to replace the base plate on any of my TS55. The oldest is the one I now use as the standard against which all of my TS saws are adjusted for toe-in and spacing from the rail splinter guard. Still, for over 4 years that was my primary TS plunge saw. There has been no significant wear of the gibb pads.

Let me add that I do not fabricate solid surface materials. I have done so in Festool End User SS class, but having been warned by Steve Bace in advance, I used the TS55 provided in class. I am sure that solid surface fabricators become very good at changing the bases of their TS saws.
