Hi there,

I've got a curious issue.  Periodically, when I make a plunge cut with my track saw, it feels like the spring is missing.  The resistance is inconsistent, and it causes me to make a jerky plunge, which is uncomfortable and sometimes leads to the saw moving.

It's uncomfortable to the point where I don't let others use the saw.  Heck, I don't even enjoy using the saw, now, because I don't know what I'm going to experience:  the

I sent the saw in for a repair and they could not replicate the issue.  It didn't seem like a thorough repair / evaluation, honestly.  They replaced the spring, but I am still having the issue.

I've had the saw for about 7 years, but the use has been light.    I never had this issue for the first ~4 years.

Has anyone ever experienced anything similar?

Welcome to the FOG..

Yea, my TS55 doesn’t work well either. Sometimes when I lift it off the track after making a cut, the blade protector thing doesn’t go all the way over the blade, leaving it exposed and spinning, making it extremely dangerous to set down, especially if fingers are in the way. Very light use in the first several years of ownership, which is when the problem first appeared, then placed in storage for 3-4 years (during a cross country move), before being able to get it out of storage and use it again.
