Question; does the TS 55 (non-R) fit the T-Loc inlay of the TS 55 R? Does the foam part in the lid have a separate part number? Is the lid part of the classic TS 55 systainer the same?

The T-Loc TS 55 R inlay seems to fit the 160mm quick rail clamps, does the TS 55 (non-R) inlay fit those too?

Long story short; I want to move over my old TS 55 to a T-Loc Systainer so I can fit the railsquare in there too, but still not sure if and what parts I need besides the Systainer itself.

Does this help?[attachimg=1]

Ahaa, so they fit in each others inlay? Nice.

Is the foam part in the lid also identical?

The first picture 55r is on the left,2nd picture 55r is on the right, lid closes on both, however from old to new  the insert will have to be trimmed, or just buy new insert. guy[attachimg=1] foam insert fits both ways. guy

So the foam lid piece is identical between T-Loc and Classic?

I see you have a railsquare in the Classic Systainer. Is that the GRS-16 or the GRS-16 PE? I have the "PE" version (or actually the Festool version of it), so that won't fly.

Hi, I didn't check the part #,for the foam,it looks to be the same,I have both, the pe will not fit the classic the grs-16 fits on a angle in the classic. guy

I'd just call Festool.

Don't hold me to it but the lid card, not the foam or insert, is a customer service item from Festool.

Thanks samo, the foam is different because the lids are different, should  have seen that, only in the way they attach are they different. guy

I found Festool 700860 as T-Loc inlay for the TS 55 and Festool 708457 as T-Loc inlay for the TS 55 R. I wonder where they differ. Probably the storage for the anti-splinter? Does the TS 55 (non-R) T-Loc inlay already have the enlarged clamp-area in the inlay (so they easily fit the quick clamp 160?)

Ok... next episode...

This is a photo of an empty TS55R Systainer T-Loc from the local used market;

You have got to be kidding me Festool... so there are even more different inlays? Also note the position of the foam part in the lid...

I've encountered 3 different TS55 inlays in T-Loc systainers.

A late EQ, a 2016 REQ and a 2021 REQ.

All 3 had different inlays and top cards/foam.

EQ faced one way, 2016 REQ faced the opposite.

2021 REQ shifted base/footprint position and faced the same direction as the EQ did.

So that's 3 for sure.  Maybe there are others.

The change in orientation for the TS55R was because of the change in dustport. I have the older inlay, and I changed the dustport to the two part dustport of the cordless version, and I have to remove the elbow each time I put the saw back in the systainer. The downside of the change in orientation is that you can't leave the green antisplinter thing installed without modifying the inlay. (this wouldn't bother me much, but I read it in a thread here)

There will probably be inlay changes for some cordless tools to acommodate the wider 4.0Ah batteries.

[member=1993]Frank-Jan[/member] But when it changed to two-part dust port (when was that?), did the tool after that sit with the blade to the front, or to the rear?

Blade to the front.  Looking at one here now.  Change date, don't know.  Not so on my 2016, so on my 2021 built TS55.

And is there still space for a GSR-16 PE? That needs to be on the part where the Systainer is widest, so near the middle side of the corner reinforcements.

Does this help? 30mm clearance between the central vertical rib on the front of the systainer and the outer face of the blade cover on the saw.

Hmm, I would have to measure the GSR tomorrow, but my guess is the GSR with clip is a bit more than 30mm.  [unsure]

Well, Festool responded to me... the lid foam part isn't sold separately  [huh]

The GSR is 31mm at it's fattest, so maybe it still fits in front...
