From Festool: The TS 55 REQ (561 556) has realized a minor product improvement to the front trunnion and green release lever for the -1° setting. The front trunnion now looks like the image below.

This is the same bevel mechanism on the TSC 55 and similar to the double-locking front and rear bevels on the TS 55 EQ with a positive stop for 0°.

There is no item number change or price change.

FestoolProducts.com has the updated TS 55 REQ version in stock and ready to ship. You will be guaranteed to receive the new version if you order from us.

[member=48572]Shane Holland[/member]  I saw another post about installing this new positive stop in the previous generation of TS55REQ's. Is it true that this part can be installed on the older TS55 REQ's? It seems like it is a better design for the zero degree stop if it truly can easily be installed on older models.

I would recommend contacting Festool with that question or maybe [member=47173]Brent Shively[/member] can give you an answer. I suspect it would be possible, but I don't know which part(s) would need to be replaced to make the swap.

Had a look at the new design and the older TS55REQ. Don't think it is possible without changing a large number of the body parts which would make the change very expensive.

Probably cheaper to sell the old saw and buy the new one.

As Bohdan mentioned, there are several parts that would need to be changed in order to make the switch.
I'm working on getting the cost of the parts required and the labor as well.  Once i have both i will post them.

There are three parts that will need to be replaced for the change.
200173 Outside cross head guide
500912 Guide plate
10017862 inner Blade Housing
The cost of the parts, labor and shipping should be in between $200 and $250. For an exact cost you will need to contact the service department.

What does this new upgrade get you? Just curious - seems like a high cost for a bevel adjustment/stop. Thanks!
