Hi all, hope someone can help.  My TS 55 REQ was dropped on the floor and the housing holding the vacuum hose swivel was broken.  I ordered a new part and have dissembled the saw down to the hinge pin holding the motor to the housing.  Can anyone advise how to remove this pin?  Is it pressed in?  Can I press it out?  Please help.  Everything else in the dissembly is straightforward.  Thanks for anyone's response.

I'd be interested in this too. I've seen few videos of complete disassembly and restoration, but the hinge is conveniently skipped.

Hello, the pin holding the motor housing is to be hammered carefully from the sawblade side to the motor side.then there is a spring that needs ideally an alen key to be removed. Did i make any sense?

Thanks for the quick reply jimmy...Your answer is clear for the pin removal direction but I am a little confused about the alien key part.  Im thinking that I will avoid the hammer route unless you can tell be that hammering is not too aggressive.  Perhaps I'll get a cheap bench top arbor press and press out the pin.  Any comments from anyone?

I think you could cobble something together using a clamp/vise to push it out. Block of wood with hole on one side and a short push pin on the other. I expect it to go easy once you've dislodged it. Of course my knowledge of this is purely theoretical.  [big grin]

Thanks all for your suggestions.  Ill post the results when I press or hammer the pin out.

Guys the use of plastic hammer is official from Germany service trainning, also for removing the armature from the metal housing, and the fields from the plastic housings,we use a plastic hammer with not too much force.

To be clear,
I always suggest a trained professional doing the repair though. :) as it must go under electrical check before returned to the customer. But since you have opened it I thought Id help  [tongue]

Now how did you get your hands on official service training documents? That's handy to know!

Ah, figures. [big grin] I didn't see that green badge under your name this morning.  [tongue]

I'm sad now, I was hoping there might be some secret stash of these guides on the internet somewhere that I might be able to download.
