TS 55 REQ Update

From Festool: The TS 55 REQ (561 556) has realized a minor product improvement to the front trunnion and green release lever for the -1° setting. The front trunnion now looks like the image below.

This is the same bevel mechanism on the TSC 55 and similar to the double-locking front and rear bevels on the TS 55 EQ with a positive stop for 0°.

There is no item number change or price change.

Yes, it does have the adjustable grub screw.
The TS 55 EQ cannot be updated with the new guide plate and bevel adjustment.

What it looks like in the release position to get the -1°. You must pull out the rear button for the motor to shift as you did on the standard REQ.

To whom ever asked the EQ had the stop screws, it is the first generation REQ that they were removed from.

Since the TS 55 REQ was launched there were some modifications.
And that's a good thing about Festool.
One of them is the cover in which there is a hole in TS machines with serial #500603.
The older machine #498900 didn't have this hole so cannot easily be updated or it will cost some money mentioned in this thread.

So it can be done, just comes down to what you want to invest in the saw. That's what I was getting at.

I have an early R that is adjusted to set back to 0º with no issues at all, so I do not need to update the saw.

Whether it's cost prohibitive would probably depend on how much of a problem you have with the zero stop. If not that much, the initially quoted $200+ cost is probably not worth it. If you find it a big problem, while it is still a big cost (about 1/3 the price of the saw), it might be worth it.
