I have a new TS 55 I have been trying out.  I have a table setup with 2" rigid foam I am cutting on.

Well. I had this 12" INCRA PRECISION MARKING RULER I inadvertently had under a 36 x 36 piece of 3/4" particle board I was cutting.  Well I now have two rulers.

Question, did I screw up the blade?  I cut several pieces after and it seems fine.

Separate, while cutting a couple pieces, the saw seemed to lose power.  I stalled a second and power came back.  I do not think it is related to cutting the ruler, but for the few cuts I did before that I did not notice any stall.  Could cutting the ruler caused an issue?

Make sure the plugit cord is fully into the saw and rotated to lock it in.

Personally, I wouldn't be worried about the blade after cutting a super thin ruler - even if it's steel.
You might want to remove the blade and take a peek at the teeth looking for any cracks or chips.  If you'd cut something with thicker steel there would have been more chance for chipping/cracking, but those rulers are pretty dinky.
Otherwise, keep on keepin on.
Just don't cut Wedi(concrete reinforced foam shower board)... now THAT will dull your saw in a jiffy.

I usually send my saw blades to Forrest if I hit something. They will inspect and repair if necessary. A hit can damage the carbide blade tips.
