A little rumour (from a previously reliable source) is that the new TS55, the TS55R is due for release in UK in Spring!!

The main changes are

Can cut flush to a wall due to new flush housing

An adjustable viewing window where the blade makes contact with the stock

Angle adjustments from -1 to +47 degrees

Dust extraction improved due to enclosed design of viewing window/splinter guard and riving knife

It is compatible with previous rails and accessories

Price points are £395 + VAT with a 1400 rail or £355 + VAT without the rail!

"R" ??

Ahh - sports version  [eek]

I suppose the TS75RR Trophy will be the model to hold out for  [tongue]

Not enough possitive functional changes, to make me change. Think Maffell has the edge still. we will have to see [big grin]

Yep Fes it will. Its only window dressing only possitive thing i can see is it has at long last got a duel depth indicater. flush cutting acording to festool is 12 mm away from edge. I always thought flush ment flush. can do bettter with a kss300 think thats 10 mm off top of head. window who needs a window with a rail saw?  -1 to 47 deg ok thats better. Not impressed Go back and do the job properly Festool

Thats really funny because I just sold my ts55 as it had sat in its box for the last year since getting the mafell mt55cc

so for once my timing was good [big grin]

Anybody know how big the motor is??

Ooohh [unsure]

Its just a half hearted make over, same basic saw with some "go faster stripes and questionable wheel trims"  only real improvement is a dual scale reader. No ground breaking improvements, shame.

John get off the fence and say what you think for a change [poke] [big grin] [big grin]

This saw has not even been seen let alone used by anyone. So saying its just got some added racing strips is a bit silly. Let us wait and see if it is even for real before we pass judgement.

My TS 55 base is worn out. Replace, Mafell or TS55 R ???
Richard

Richard having had both the ts55 and the mt55cc it would have to be the mafell but who knows how much of a rework the festool has had it would need to be excellent just to match the mafell I will watch with interest although I will not be buying one..
