TS 75 depth adjuster issue

Hi,
just got the ts75 this morning.
i decided to farmiliarise myself with it first before doing any cutting.
upon arrival the depth adjuster was on 75, so like any good child i slid it up a little.
i found that i can't get it to go back down.
so i slid it up a bit more and still couldn't slide it down.
ad infinitum... the depth adjuster is now on 22 and i can't slide it back down to 75.
am i missing something? i thought it was supposed to move up and down freely?
i looked in the manual, nothing in there to advise as to any tricks or particular skills needed...
it's quite tight to slide up, but feels pretty good constructionwise, however i have put considerable energy into trying to push it back down and it just won't go.
also a bit disappointed that it doesn't have the upgraded micro adjuster like the 55, however it appears one can use the grub screw for that.
still that won't be any use to me unless i can figure out how to lower the blade again....HELP!!

okay, twas operatoir error.
panic over.
just found out i need to push the adjuster toward the blade to lower.....
hmmm. didn't need to do that to move it up.
anyhoo, you can just comment upon how much of a numpty i am rather than helping with the issue now.
i shall start;

what a 'tool, not pushing the button in!
it's a bit like having a stinky pizza then realising you forgot to take the polystyrene base off before putting in the oven... and this person is being let loose with power tools... there is no hope for mankind.

A suggestion for the depth scale, get in the habit of returning it to zero when you are done using the saw. That way you can’t grab the saw and start cutting without adjusting to the proper cut depth.

Don’t ask how I figured that one out.  [eek]

That's a cool idea. thank you.
mine goes beyond zero by quite a lot of clicks, i guess that is probably normal.
i think i will do some measuring too, just to see how accurate it is; not that it really matters that much as the wood i use is from a timber yard that cuts fresh to order rather than keeping stock on the shelf, so most of what i do is relative to the bit of wood i have in front of me rather than mass processed stuff.

  I love it....the TS75 was my first Festool purchase in 2010, along with a CT22. The thing that has improved in the TS55 is that the depth scale has two scales, one that is used like the one on the TS75 to adjust depth and the second one that accounts for the 5mm thickness of the guide rail. Oh, and speaking of "ask me how I figured that out", I once was doing a demo of the TS55 on an MFT and after doing a blade change demo, forgot to reset the depth and cut clear through the MFT top. Luckily I did not go through the aluminum rails, but boy was my face red.
