Just wondering if its best to buy the Festool replacement blades or if there is another make worth going for? What does everyone think?

I have no actual experience, but am going to purchase several of the Oshlun blades in the near future as a test.  For what I spend on the tools I can justify throwing a few bucks at some cheap/er blades.  Worst case is they become construction blades, and I get Festool blades for future furniture making. YMMV

I bought some Oshlun blades for my TS55 and also Kapex for cutting aluminum. Figured if they were not up to quality that would be ok since they were not my main wood blades. But I have been very happy with them and the kerf is identical so I will not hesitate to buy Oshlun wood cutting replacements for my Festool blades when the time comes.

I purchased Oshlun blades for my TS55 and was pleased with them, especially the lower price.

Unfortunately I didn't do any fine wood working with them, I used them specifically for renovation work, cutting up subflooring and joists.  That said, it made a nice cut.  I won't say as nice as the festool, but hitting a nail with one made me cringe a lot less.

I'll double check if I can find the blade, but I'm pretty certain the carbide is nowhere near as heavy duty as the festool.  I remember thinking when I got the Oshlun that it was cheaper for a reason, but all that is perfect for my specific use case.

i bought a stehle blade recently. seems to work very well. i was using trend blades but the stehle is wayyy better

Freud do blades to fit as well , reasonable prices and longevity between sharpening.  Trend craft pr are cheap .
Fin , where did you get the stehle blade from . Cheers, Dave

Ive used the Tenryu blade, its blades are 2.2mm just like festools. But I  tell ya, I do prefer the festool ones...
