Hey guys
I recently couldn't find a 160mm / 20mm blade to fit my ts55 plunge saw (2007 model) without waiting 2 days. sooooo, i decided to modify to make it take a 165.. here goes....
- twist plug and remove cable
- remove blade with fastfix as normal.
- remove cover plate held with 5 torx screws
- with angle grinder metal disc - off 3mms from the nib on the riding knife
- place in the new 165mm blade ensuring you have ground off just enough off and the blade turns with a little clearance
- replace cover plate (you will need to press the trigger and lower the blade) this will allow the clearance to get the cover back on.
- with the cable plugged in at the wall, lower the blade by 5mm with the trigger, twist the cable so the saw starts.
- slowly raise the blade and allow it to cut it's own path into the casing.
- you will notice some alu shavings.
ALL DONE! Your ts55 now takes much cheaper and readily available 165mm 20mm blades. I assume they haven't changed the design since 2007 btw.
I hope this helps someone get out of a pickle.
cheers, goo luck
