Ts55 dust port question

It's not really a huge issue but I noticed that when I use my ts without my ct26 it spits all the dust right on the rail. The dust port swivels but doesn't stay in the direction I left it in like it does on my kapex. Is it supposed to be this loose?

Ps the saw performed flawlessly. Dusty rail was my only concern

It is that loose so the hoses follows better. If need be see if you have a dust bag from another saw and see if it will fit on the TS.

The old ts55 was stiff but they made them looser on the req . It's a right pain as its always in the wrong place and the hose snags. Some people have put paper or tape around them to stiffen the swivel up.

I don't have any dust bags that would fit. It would be nice if I could get my hands on a tsc dust bag when it's available.

I guess some green painters tape would work but I'd rather not have to do that

I think if you take the cover off, there's a groove inside that almost looks like an o-ring groove that might prove useful. At least that's how the old one was...

You might get some funny looks but put a toilet paper tube on the end. Might need a bit of painters tape depending on the brand but it works in a pinch!!

Do you actually do this or is this a joke at my expense?

Not a joke at all. When I run my TS outside (very rarely I might add) I use a tube like that or maybe even a paper towel tube if I need it to eject a little further.

I am sorry if you felt like I was poking fun, but that was definitely not the case.

If you want to go a little more highbrow, you could take an old piece of vac hose (say less than 500mm and attach it and drape it over the rail side.

Cheers. Bryan.

I wrapped a single (maybe half way around) layer of electrical tape inside on the portion of the port that is under the housing. You need to take the housing cover off to take the port out.  Pull it very tight into the grooves so it is smooth. Just enough to do the trick with no loose or sticky tape anywhere.
