I've got to cut some 1/4" fiberock for our backsplash in the kitchen and was wondering if I could/should use my TS-55 with the Fine-Tooth saw blade (stock blade).

Well, you can cut almost anything with a saw, the question is what it will do to the blade.  I've used fiberock before and I know it contains a silica material, it's not good for your health and it will dull blades quickly.  I'm fairly certain you'd get good results with the TS55, however, you'll be sending the blade to be sharpened afterwards.

The Ridgid fiber cement saw ($150 or so) does an excellent job cutting cement board products.  And replacement blades are very inexpensive.

The dust collection is very good and the Festool vac tool adapter fit right into the dc port on the Ridgid saw.
