Quick question:  How often do any of you actually use the negative 1 degree feature on the TS 55?

Never. But I can see where it may be useful, eg cutting high end planking/flooring, where the ends need to butt up perfectly (and where you do the marking on the bottom of the material, of course).

Rarely. Only ever used it on some special designer CNC carved vinyl wrap panels and a few high gloss panels

When I had the TS55, I used it often. When I traded in for the TS75, it was one of the features I missed most.

Maybe the question should add, "and how many of you are dealing with laminated or melamine-coated materials?"

I’ve been looking around online for a video that shows why you would use it but can’t find anything. Does anyone have a link or some pictures on how/why it’s useful? I’m a new TS55 owner.

The few times I had to cut those materials I used the PS 300  [tongue]

Used it 4 times when I wanted some mitered chests to match perfectly at the top corners.  They were plywood.  The veneers matched perfectly.  Nice feature when you do not want gaps showing.
