FESTOOL 202096 DUST BAG ADAPTER FOR TS55  Seems to be the right item?
I want to get from bayonet to round, I can then adapt to my vac.

Anyone know the inside / outside dimensions of this item please?
https://is.gd/h65IQ1 shows the item.

More specifically.

I want to connect a 35mm Festool tracksaw with a cyclone vac with 50mm (internal) port.

Any suggestions appreciated.

While Im not exactly clear on what you are trying to do I will say this hose Cen-tec hose
has worked well for me.  It comes in an anti static version to.  It has just about every tool adaptor needed for the tool end.  If the other end doesnt fit in your vacuum just get a piece of PVC pipe that is close and use a heat gun to mold it to the size you need.

The smooth dust port connector is Festool item no. 10015824.

The CleanTec dust port connector (with the tabs) is Festool item no. 202096.

TS55 tracksaw, I want the dust port to connect to a cyclone (then on to a shopvac).
I'll have a look at that item.
  Thanks.

Thanks for that - No information on the size of the 'plain' port!
I'd prefer a Festool bayonet - to stop the hose dropping off, so a hose, with 36mm bayonet for TS55
and some form of plain port on the other end of the hose (if such a thing exists!)

I do wish some company would address standards for dust ports :-)

"I do wish some company would address standards for dust ports :-)"

Wouldn't that require ALL companies to cooperate on creating a standard, which would leave all those with old, proprietary style connections in the dust. :-)

I don't see how one company can fix this other than to offer a hose with a 5 gallon bucket full of adapters to ensure you can connect anything to anything else.

If the cyclone is a Dust Deputy then the standard festool hoses go straight on the outside of the inlet.

No, mines a  Chinese knockoff? I'm trying to avoid the cost of the Festool hoses, they are ... dear! [wink]
Remove the bayonet on the TS55, and leaves a 35mm outlet - which is great ... except it's pointing downwards?
Why [member=101]Festool USA[/member] please?

Agree, though it is done with many aspects of tech? All it takes is a few 'names' to get together, others don't wish to be left out
and hey presto an agreed 'recommendation' is available and easier for manufacturers and customers.

If you dont want a festool hose then the Cen-tec is the next best thing.  They are top quality.  I'm pretty sure that's what Fein includes or atleast used to include.  I have a fein that is around 20 years old and the hose that came with it is still good.  I cannot tell a difference between it or the cen-tec. other than the ends that are supplied.  The Centec that comes with the different ends fits almost everything festool, makita, mafell, the only thing it didn't fit was the dewalt that uses the DWV9000 connector but the end will unscrew from the cen-tec and the dewalt DWV9000 will screw on so it actually does work just not as quickly as the QA end.  The centec hose I bought only included 3 different ends and it still has worked great for me.  Looks like they include a few more connectors so I cant imagine it not working for almost everything.  I dont own or use exclusively festool and its hands down the best option for the money especially if you use tools other than festool.  I can't guarantee you that you won't have to make a custom pvc/heat gun adaptor at the collector end but thats cheap and easy to do.  HF has heat guns for less than 10 bucks.

Thanks afish - Looks promising, and can be modded with more plastic. I think that will do me.

it wouldn't take much to get on the same page, maybe companies all ready are more or less there.  As was mentioned, all that really has to happen is a couple major players to get together, agree to a couple sizes, call it something and run with it.

Many companies won't want to do some of it if it means they are the one that has to change.  The compromise could be pick sizes that no one uses so everyone has to change.

Many tools have replaceable ports, so updates could be done (Festool did this on the track saws).  And of course there would be an adapter industry.  But if it basically means companies like Festool need to make and sell 3 sizes of adapters from their ports to the standard ports, it's not a big deal.  Apple loves to make Dongles

I think when you look at the companies out of the EU a lot of it is fairly standard.  I think the issue is the US hasn't had dust collection, or real efforts on this till lately, and is stuck in inches, and thinks "shop vac" as standard.  You will have companies that refuse to accept the metric system and thus refuse to make "mm ports"

I doubt there are that many variants in plain ports, 100mm, around 50 and tiny ones (Makita sander 20mm?).
Agreed the US will be in inches, though lesser variants would mean a market for converters.

Even Festool, bayonet to round (nearest 'standard') would be easy.

Instead the customer has to go through the hassle with each new tool.
