TS55 VS table saw

Do you promise? Please say you do... Really Burt, just about everyone here knows your annoying schtick and they're sick of it. I seriously doubt anyone here will be upset if you don't participate.

Your comments on Festool mean nothing and we all know it. You "claim" to own one, but that's most likely BS. Whether you do own one or not, based on your past postings, you obviously have no clue how to use it. I've read hundreds of posts from you about Festool and you haven't been even close to accurate yet.

Really, do us all a favor and don't bother. Go sell your product elsewhere.

I was looking to find an answer how to use more efficient the mft 1800 and the TS55 and I found this post.

Last night I promise myself not use the TS55 and MFT 1800 together again.  I found it very slow!!!.  I can do the same with my TS Unisaw and much faster.  The accuracy can be obtain in the MFT 1800 and TS55 but it takes to long to setup vs my table I have just to move my Biesemeyer to the size, hold and tight the lever and I am in business.
I don't have the boom arm and the hose/extension cord is driving me crazy.  If I want to make another cut I have to put the saw away, move the hose/extension out the way, lift the guide position,position the wood and move the TS55 again (Damn the hose/extension cord is on my way again  ).

I work in my 2 car garage and I am a hobbyist so I need to keep the MFT 1800 folded so my wife can park her car.  So I have to setup the MFT 1800 every time I want to woodwork. It irritates me.  I will use the MFT 1800 for everything else, assembly, gluing, router operations but not with my TS55.  I will use my TS55 and guides to cut plywood into manageable sizes.  I will rip with my Unisaw and the crosscut with my Incra Miter 5000 and Unisaw.

Also the power of my Unisaw (220v) vs TS55 makes my cuts faster.

I own several festool tools and I know the quality of them (Domino, OF1400, TS55, MFT 1800, RO125) but I cannot understand how the TS can be replaced.  I understand the point of working at the clients and MFT 1800/TS55 better use in that situation, but I am a hobbyist and all my work is for my wife.

Something positive is I will never use my Unisaw to cut full sheets of plywood.  My TS55 and guides are better suited for that.

You can make your own boom arm by hanging something from the ceiling or attaching a 2x4 to the side of the table and have it go up as your boom arm. Another thing I do is keep the vacuum under the table and have the hose and cords come out the back side and around the table. I keep a 3 way power cube / adapter plugged into my vacuum so I can have 3 tools ready to go, just move the hose.

You can also make a shelf that holds the TS55 to the side of the table. Make the shelf low enough that the TS55 stays below the tabletop. There are several examples on the FOG to give you some ideas.

I will agree that the table saw and miter saw can do most cuts faster. But you can't beat the TS55 for plywood.

I used to have a Craftsman radial arm saw. But having only a 2 car garage, space is limited. I did look at table saws and kept looking at the
Bosch table saw / with stand. The stand folds but it still took up a lot of room.

I went to a Woodcraft store one Saturday and the Festool rep was there and also was giving demo's on all the tools.

I bought the Package deal on the TS55 (extra blade as bonus)  and the MFT 1080 table and really like it
Also bought the Package RO150 FEQ + CT22.
The CT22 works a heck of a lot better that alot of the shop vac's I have used/owned

I did look at the Jet table saws that they had on sale. Just to big.

The MFT takes up less space then a radial arm or table saw would.

Also bought the wife a DX 93 sander, which she is using to refinish some furnature and realy loves it.
