TS55 what accessories to order when buying

Found out today that I will be getting an unexpected payment for some additional work over the summer, so I think I am going to go with the TS55/MFT combo.

A couple of questions still though
Bill-E suggested going with the Festool hose to connect to my Fein vacuum.  Which size will fit the saw (and the Fein?)  Is that the 27 mm  hose?

I assume if I get the combo, I will still need to order 2 rail connectors and 2 clamps.  Is that right?

John

John,

I have this hose and it works well.

You surely can use a Fein hose with adapters, lotsa folks do.

Personally I like the Festool hose for use with the Fein because there are no adapters and also I use it with my CT22 during the seasons where I don't have to worry about static, because this hose is more flexible than the anti-static hoses.

And your decision to go with the MFT is one you will not regret.

I used to be in agreement with the current belief that owning 2 of the same size guide rails is redundant or inefficient.
Not so. The fastest way to cut perfectly parrallel panels of 370mm or wider is to lay two guide rails on the material with spacers between them. Spacer length = finished dimension - 370mm.  No measuring, no marking just lay the rails down with spacers, cut and cut, done.

Could you do that with 1400 and 1900? I'm thick. I need a picture.

you could.

Also 8' parrallel rips with the 2700 and 3000.

I havent figured out how to post the pics. I'm thick. I work with well wood not computers.

Trigger pulled...
                  Cool stuff delivered...
Time gone to prepare for the classes I am teaching ... :(

I did get the TS55 and the MFT 1080 from Bob

On the small stuff
  2 rail connectors
  2 quick clamps
  clamping elements
  longitudinal stop
  pack of splinter guards

I decided to wait on the hose, and try the Fein hose for now.

Hopefully things will calm down after the first week of classes, so I can get a chance to play with the new toys.  I haven't even had a chance to plug the saw in yet. :'(

Thanks for the advice

John

Speaking of well wood, did anybody see the modern marvel show or whatever about the guy who invented the lumber mill that harvests trees underwater where valleys have been flooded? In-credible.

Eiji,

I am having some trouble visualizing your method.

Are you lining up those guide rails with their rubber edges facing away from each other (and the aluminum edges of the guide rails nearest to each other) and are positioned over what will become the width of your panels when you cut them out of a larger sheet?
