TS55R bevel scale adjustment

I just bought one and noticed at the 0 and 45 bevel limits the pointer is about half a degree off the scale marks for those limits (in the negative).  Is there a way to adjust the bevel scale so it lines up with the pointer?  I assume the limit settings are accurate but have not made any cuts yet.

Also because the limit stop is only on the rear of the saw there is a bit of slop/flex at the front of the saw at the limit stops which makes it hard to know precisely where the front of the saw should stop before tightening the bevel locking knobs (due to the weight of the saw it has some flex/slop at the limits) I am not impressed with this aspect but it appears to be design inherent.  Seems a bit crude and not very precise for a festool tool.

You are right about the flex in the front. I tighten the back lock knob first when changing the bevel or returning to 0 degrees. At first I thought that the stops were out of whack but found out that I was putting just slight pressure on the front and tightening that knob  first, thus moving the saw just slightly out of square for the 0 degrees. I would check the cuts first before anything else. If they are right on then I wouldn't do anything. if they are out of alignment then you can either send it to Festool service or do the adjustment yourself.  There are 2 other threads about this, one of which tells you about the adjustment. I can't find them but will reference them when I have a few minutes. As far as I know there is no adjustment for the pointer.

Thanks for the response and tips. Not being able to adjust the scale is unacceptable.  Granted most cuts are 0 or 45 but how do you select any other angle with any accuracy.  I think I will return it and hope the replacement one lines up with the scale.

It's easy to adjust. However, I believe this adjusts the stop itself, not the scale. Is there any way to adjust the "scale"? To me that means the markings/pointer. The movement of the stop bracket stops the bevel at a different point. In my case, this happened to put the pointer right on the 0 degree mark for a 90 degree cut, but I know of no way to change that if setting the stop so it cuts perfectly at 90 degrees puts the pointer off the 0 mark.

It looks like I could just adjust the front bracket (and scale) without affecting the rear one and the stops. Is this the case?

I cannot find any thread about the adjusting the scale itself or the pointer. The following also talk about adjusting the bevel stop, though:

Adjusting TS55REQ Bevel Stop

Setting the Blade Perpendicular to the Sole Plate

Festool TS55 Bevel Stop

(Sorry, I wasn't sure how to copy the links into this reply.)

Once I adjusted the stop, however, and understood that tightening the bevel lock in the rear first is the best way to change the bevel and bring it back to zero again, my problem was solved. The pointer was right on the zero mark when everything was set right and tightened down. In my case, it was not the indicator, but the bevel stop and the method of tightening the lock knobs which was causing the problem.
