TS55REBQ extraction swivelling and fouling

Just wondering whether anyone has any tips (short of using duct tape!) to overcome the problem of the extraction hose connection to the TS55REBQ saw swivelling by gravity to point downward.
Because of the acute angle, the hose then immediately fouls either the end of the rail or the workpiece and cannot be moved forward without picking it up and swivelling it up with your "free" hand and guiding it over the rail or workpiece.
This happens whether or not the accessory designed to prevent this is fitted to the end of the rail.
This is my only complaint about an otherwise wonderful tool.
Hope you may be able to help.

Hi Jack

If you are in a workshop then the answer is simple - do what I do...

I have several bungees stretched between hooks on the ceiling. Depending where I am working (or what tool I am using) I thread the hose over the bungee, connect it to the tool and off I go. The bungee has enough give in it to allow for quite a bit of lateral movement below. I often thread the power cord over the bungee as well.

If you are in the wide open spaces then it is a different matter. I have often been tempted to drive a short screw through the casing of the TS to fix the extraction nozzle in the up position but that might be silly - sorry, it is silly. You could either use some duct tape to bind the nozzle in position, super glue (silly again) or make a little clamp/bracket thing.

I just hope that you are in a workshop and can use the bungee idea.

Peter

Welcome to the forum!  [smile]

There is a new style indexing swiveling port that comes on the cordless saw. Those parts can be swapped onto the other saw.

Expedient ...........  Remove port, one or two wraps of electrical tape around threads, replace port. Should tighten it up
without damage or getting tape goo all over the outside.
