TS75 needs extended outside splinter guard

I'm use the TS75 to break down plywood with a veneer finish, the rubber guard on the inside of the track does a great job of keeping splinters to a minimum but because I'm only lowering the saw slightly more than 3/4" the blade never reaches the outside splinter guard. In the scenario the outside splinter guard is useless. Festool should manufacture an extended outside splinter guard for applications such as this. I know what you're thinking... buy a TS55, problem solved!

I have used Paul Marcel's  splinter guard mod and it works great.  It helps with dust collection as well.

Owning a TS55 I wonder if the mod would work for making the splinter guard on my saw last longer, after a deep cut? Hmmm...a piece of ABS might be the ticket.
