TS75 repaired

Tri,

Welcome to the forum. I wish it was under better circumstances that you joined.

I talked to our service manager about your saw and I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with it. I assure you that we will take care of repairing the saw to like-new condition. Also, apologies for the inconvenience of having to send it in for repair. As Lester told  you, we have free shipping to and from the repair center and a 48-hour turn around goal for all tools.

It's disappointing that you might choose to sell the tool, but I'm sure there's someone here on the forum that would be willing to buy it if you want to list it in our classifieds section at a good price.

Unfortunately, regardless of the price of a product, there can always be an unexpected failure. I've had 4 recalls on my new pickup truck over the years, which was very inconvenient as well. My hope is that fast and thorough repair of the tool will change your mind.

I'm sure Festool will fix the saw properly. I've had my TS75 for several years with absolutely no problems. It is a quality piece of machinery.

Frustration understood.  Though with the 3 yr service, why not keep it for the next 2 1/2 years then sell it when the service contract is set to expire?  You could still command a decent price for the machine, judging by how much the TS75 goes for on the classified section of the forum.

I agree with Edward.  You already have the tool and, with Festool's great service and quick turnaround, you are covered if anything else should come up during the next 2 1/2 years.

If you decide to keep it I want to add that you should go ahead and register your tool online.  Doing so, will allow you to keep track of your tool's serial number and how long you have left on your warranty.

Good Luck,

Mike A.

A five month life expectancy is not the normal life expectancy for the saw. It was clearly defective. Once repaired under warranty it should last for many years. Not just another five months.

It seems like everyone think it might just be a bad saw I got but how often do you use your saw? Maybe it could last for years if you only use it a few times a year.

I was using it a few days a week to cut straight edge on long boards, mostly poplar, sometimes tougher wood like walnut and mahogany. l know that could be a lot to handle but a saw with as much specs and hype should be able take some use and abuse.

I do give Festool credit for fast customer service, but at the end of the day, it is still an overhyped saw in my opinion if I get it back and have the same issue. I'll give an update when I get the saw back and use for a few months.

Don't worry.  There are lots of us here who actually use our saws daily to make a living and either have had no need for repairs or have needed repairs and the saws then keep on going.

My saw dates back to 2006.  It isn't pretty but when I'm working it is helping put $$ in my pocket and in the bank.

What you experienced was the exception versus the rule.

Peter

Hey, don't try to talk him out of selling it. I'll buy it and stack it with my two ts55s and my other ts75. Then I can rotate them so they don't have to get used every day like they do now... [big grin]

Definitely more than one potential buyer here. Don't bother with EBay - you won't have to pay their extortionate fees if you sell it here.

If you think it's an overhyped saw, perhaps you really should consider selling it as soon as you get it back in your possession.  No need to remain bitter long term using a product you don't like, especially one that is overhyped......  Just sell it and move on to whatever saw makes you happy!  :)

i can understand how you feel about. but its a rare condition indeed. I use mine a few times a week just like you cutting 8/4 polar, 8/4 walnut, 2x4s, alum, melamine, plywood and 8mm thick carbon fiber with the stock blade for about 8 months and its like feels like new.

I think i wasted and spend more time marveling at the clean finish cut than my actual work at times lol. i cannot go back to using a straight edge and clamps to rip anymore. [embarassed]
