I'm a Festool virgin but I'm about to take the plunge and get a TS75. However it looks like my dealer may have old stock. I saw on a site somewhere a picture of a new glide design that had a black plastic insert that held the saw tighter in the track but cannot find it anymore to show the dealer. Any suggestions? Also does anyone know if the new glide can be switched in the old shoe.

Thanks

Hello,

The "new glide design" is only available for the TS55, not for the TS75. What it actually is: In the new baseplates are two plastic inserts that
can be removed if they wear. This design change was done for customers that are cutting hundreds of feet of very abrasive material (like Corian). In those
cases the baseplate wears out and has to be replaced. With the new design, only the 2 plastic inserts have to be replaced. It is very unlikely that the
baseplate ever wears out when cutting wood and wood related materials.

If a TS55 is ever send in with a worn out baseplate, it will be replaced with the new style baseplate free of charge.

But again, this is only for the TS55, not for the TS75. The stock your dealer has is up-to-date, since there is only one version of the TS75 available.

coolredmudball,

Have you looked closely at the TS55 too?  The TS75 is a great saw, but before you buy it, make sure that you need the extra size and horses.  What are you planning to use if or?

Regards,

Dan.
