Hello I have issues with my track saw every time i connect 2 tracks together my track saw wont want to slide across the 2nd track
any help?

Are you using the new style connectors?

New style,

Connect the bottom connector leaving 1/8” gap between rails. Tighten two screws on top connector on one rail. Place you 55 on rail at joint and tighten last two bolts.

Old Festool style

Put both connectors on one rail and tighten. Slide second rail on leaving 1/8” gap. Use saw to keep rail straight and tighten top screws. Turn saw and rail over and tighten bottom.

Make sure you have the rails connected correctly - see other threads here on this topic and/or youtube for alignment tips.

What you may not find mentioned - check/remediate below (in order of priority):
  - the rib the saw rides on is not the exact same width
=> check which rail the saw goes "harder" when the cams are tightened, then mark this rail and always use it as the "first" rail

- as sold, the rails do not have treated edges, the sharp edges of the green strips can "catch" the saw when moving to the "second" rail
=> chamfer the edges of the green strips with a knife slightly, so there is no sharp edge involved
=> optionally also slightly chamfer the aluminum edge (by 0.2 mm is enough, just to avoid a sharp edge)

- the rails can be joined in such a way the "second" rail flat side (where the saw rides) protrudes above the "first" rail at the join point
=> there is not much you can do, except trying to join the rails in a way the "second" rail is level or, ideally, slightly below the first rail when held in the air

[member=81869]bentrail[/member] It is possible that the widths of the profile part that engages the saw are slightly different on each rail.  You can double check this with digital calipers.

I have this issue with my 75" rail, which is significantly narrower (relatively) than all my other tracks, making it basically impossible to join it with another track in a way that ensures either smooth travel or a snug fit across the entire length.  Fortunately this was not a setback since I have a longer rail.

If you continue to be unsuccessful in joining the two, and if you are still within the return window, you might see if you can swap out for another rail (technically accessories do not fall under the usually generous tool return policy, but some dealers will accommodate in my experience).  Failing that, sell it to recoup most of the costs and buy a new one.

Do note this is actually not a concern with the /improved/ cams on the TS 55 R and newer saws. Including the OP's TS 60. Hence the suggestion to tune the saw to the "wider" rib rail.

The new cams have an asymetric "elastic" range where the cams maintain the reference line even when "loose" up to about 0.2mm (0.01"). This is plentty for rib width variations I have seem - most are within 0.05 mm.

thanks for all the replies i didn't think i would get so many i will try to do the things you guys mention and if it doesn't work i will try to return the track thank you
