Apologies if missed on the product page but what’s the estimated ship date for pre-orders?

Can you also tell us the height, length and depth of the fence?

Lastly- are you selling a product which would allow for the scale to account for the change in rip capacity?

Hi,

We're working on getting you some answers and will get back to you! Right now, I can confirm the fence is 1,000 millimetres long. This product provides additional guidance for ripping operations, but does not affect the maximum width of material that can be cut with the saw.

Thanks. I cannot see how the cut capacity isn’t impacted by at least the thickness of the fence…..but look forward to additional details.

From the pics the fence protrusion looks to be the same as the original Festool one.

Based on the product image- it attaches to the face of stock fence as opposed to replacing it.
I should have said the "width of the fence protrusion" is the same as the original, so zero difference.

I would have gone for it if they had duplicated the offset for the top groove. As it is, I already have my FLEX attached with the appropriate offset on the original fence. Taking it off and on just to use this closer groove is annoying.

i curious- Do you have that in literature or confirmed from a source?
I looked at the ratio of the profile width to the solid fence compared to the original one on my SYS 50 and it looks exactly the same to me, if anything maybe a 1mmm or so difference, which is nothing in the scheme of things affecting the width of cut.

@TSO_Products Would you care to chime in?

TSO's Extended Rip Fence replaces the stock fence. The CSC SYS 50's fence consists of a body and a fence. The body is what clamps to the table, and the fence is what the workpiece runs along. Here's a side-by-side of a stock Festool image and TSO's fence.

@TSO_Products To my eyes the thickness of the part of the extrusion that slides onto the fence body is pretty much the same as with the original fence, or is this not so?

I checked the TSO site last night- this is now available for order. I posted the same questions for the full dimensions on the product page- this morning the product page doesn’t reflect the question being asked, let alone answered. There is a statement under the product description that says ‘no modification to your saw required’ which I don’t recall being there initially (but could’ve overlooked) which might lend itself to the rip capacity not being impacted since you don’t have to modify the scale on the rip fence.

I’m disappointed in TSO for not having basic information like the products dimensions on the page-then again if memory serves correct I’ve had a similar experience buying other products from them, mainly the UJK fence, they don’t provide the details spending the screen real estate on ‘marketing’ jargon. For this type of product, the impact on rip capacity is a no brainer and people will want to know upfront. Thankfully there are great sites like FOG where the community can address these issues -albeit at $150 + fees price tag.

Anyway- I’ll give them a day or so and might just bite the bullet and buy it. If I do I’ll post here upon receipt on the dimensions and impact to the rip capacity.
