FWiW: we agree with Sedge to leave a tiny bit of space between the rail ends so you don't depend on a perfectly square end on each guide rail extrusion [wink]

I ordered a 2nd 55" Makita Guide Rail  and the TSO Connectors.  They worked great but I found when taking down sheet goods, I was constantly assembling and Disassembling the connected tracks.  I decided the "Heck with that" and purchased a 118" Makita Guide Rail for us with my TS-55.  If you are taking a lot of sheet goods down, buy the larger guide rail and save yourself some time.  But again, the TSO Guide Rail Connectors work great.  I use FastCap "TRACK RACK" to mount it to my garage rail (You need 3 Track Racks for the 118" Guide rail

As I rip Down lots of sheet goods

My main reason is the 2700 or 3000 stick out far in my truck and don’t want it ripped off foe one thing and this way no need to worry

This. 2 rails are a minimum for capability.

But without a long rail, you really want two 1400 ones for semi-permanent connecting when you need to rip, another 1400 one for ripping plus a shortie for small stuff and/or connected to 1400 for longer cross-cuts.
