Thank you for all of your comments concerning our new Tuffer Tennon.  The Tuffer Tenon is a moulded hardwood product from American Oak.  Other species are now available.  I will post that photo later today.

Randy,

Prices look reasonable.  What other woods are available and when will they be available for purchase?

Thanks,

Dan.

Randy,
A number of us in this group have MACs. Although Word is available for the MAC I do not have a copy. I did manage to oopen the .doc file but the prices did not display, only the sizes.  Would it be possible to post as a PDF or plain text file?

Tom, you might try the wonderful OpenOffice.org (yes, the .org really is part of the name, it has to do with wacky trademark issues and the .com boom). It's a free open source office suite that runs on the Mac (and Linux and Windows) and does a decent job with .doc files. It showed me the prices.

As I've mentioned in other posts, I'm a big fan of OpenOffice.  I use it exclusively now, totally replacing Microsoft Office.  My only disagreement with the above statement is that OpenOffice does not to a "decent job with .doc files."  It does an excellent job with .doc files!

I'm in the process of switching from PC to Mac, and I recently learned that NeoOffice is the OpenOffice version designed more specifically for Macs.

Here are links to the applications mentioned here:
OpenOffice
NeoOffice

I encourage members of this forum to give these applications a try.  It would help us communicate better here, and help you outside the forum as well.

Thanks,
Matthew

I used and liked Openoffice when I was in the PC/Windows environment.  When I converted from Windows to MAC, not long after the Intel MacBooks came out, OpenOffice was not native for MAC but would run if another product called X11 was installed - I was so green in MAC environment that was not something I wanted to take on.  Now that Matthew has pointed out that NeoOffice fixes that problem I will get it. Thanks Matthew.

Hi Randy,

Any thought to making tenons to fit the wider Domino slots?  There are a few times where these may be useful.  Chris Schwartz at popular woodworking has mentioned this several times and you should send him an email to chat about the idea.

We do have the ability to "customize" the size of our tenon.  Our inventory/stock will be determined by the demand of these sizes.  Currently, we will discuss those needs on an individual basis.

Thanks for the question.
Randy

Two more thoughts:

1.  Longer lengths of tenon stock, maybe 100mm (4") for people who want to use it for through-tenons.

2.  Tenons that are stamped (compressed) with a grid pattern and then milled down slightly to final thickness (like biscuits).  The swelling of the biscuit makes for a very strong glue bond!

Regards,

John

John,

Thanks for the comments.

Actually our Tuffer Tenon is made from 19-24" stock.  Therefore custom lengths are easily available upon request.

As far as the "compressed" feature, we have had many favorable comments about the ridges/grooves on our product.  This feature has increased glue dispersion.

Regards,
Randy
