Twin Cities, MN Area – Festool Rep and Corp Trainer will be available to help

If Danny and/or Steve were willing to join the group we should consider the show is over Saturday afternoon and they may be flying out to spend the balance of the weekend with their families. If we plan to do anything after lunch on Friday we may be on our own. Just a thought.

I have left a message for Danny... to find a good time for him and Steve. I will post comments when I know them.

Cheers,
Steve

Danny was in Chicago this weekend for Berlands House of Tools open house.  Brought the new t impact drill and the CMS.  Great guy.  Really knows the Festool lineup.

I was really iimpressed with the CMS unit - amazing dust collection.

You'll learn a lot from Danny in a short amount of time.

I emailed Danny and received the following:

"Steve R,

Steve (Bace) and I (Danny) are good for Friday night right after the show (7:00pm) to socialize with the Festool.

You know the hardest Festool to purchase for most people is the first one, then the engineering and system take over. Hopefully we have the opportunity to bring on a number of NEW Festool Family members, with the existing fans there (third party testimonials), all while enjoying the social aspects and answering everyone’s questions.

Thanks for your assistance

Danny Mack Hale"

I'm also betting that if you are at the show Sunday, they would not turn down some help packing up.... but how do I confuse them and get then to put the CMS and impact driver in my vehicle.... [scratch chin] [poke]

Cheers,
Steve

Since it seems like we have a little group building from the FOG to attend this event. I would like to know a little woodworking background on everybody before we meet, just for conversation sake, I have met several from this site but don't believe I have met anyone who has talked about attending this event.

Tim, you could go first  [poke]

Tim,

I do high end remodels and new custom work.

I work in :
Wood - from framing to building custom doors, cabinets and trim. Need silent sealed ball bearing rollers for the custom solid cheery pocket door that were built to your specs. Can do.
Electrical - if you need to rewire the whole house to bring it up to code and need a custom made power panel built to UL ratings with arch fault and GFIs and ensure all you Jboxes are not over filled... and document it all for the inspector, I make it happen.
Plumbing - can do... just don't enjoy it much.
HVAC - gee wonder why the house sold cheap.... now need a custom solution to over come code violations? Want to install a state of the art system that you can control from anywhere in the world and have it send you a messages if it senses a problem... I can help.

Well that is my story and I'm sticking to it.

Cheers,
Steve

Steve you're right I could have gone first but you saved me so much typing  [big grin]. Add commercial interiors, about 4000 s.f. of shop and warehouse space as i do a lot of commercial mill work and furniture. Also I don't enjoy the mechanical trades as you stated. I have three subs that I trust and have worked with for years so I don't do any electrical, plumbing or HVAC but I can make it happen at the drop of a hat. My electrician also enjoys high end theater work which usually generates some nice finish work and specialties on my end. Been in the trades for about 25 years and wouldn't trade it for anything at this point.

This is good to know, because if I do go, I was planning to go on Friday when the crowds are lighter.

What's everyone wearing for recognition? I wasn't going to wear a Festool shirt because I thought it would be inappropriate, but now I'm thinking that maybe I should.

I guess that all depends on how warm it is. For your sake better hope for cool weather.  [poke]

Rick I was thinking that was a bad idea. I don't want the group to downsize. Regardless of weather I'll be nice and wear pants with my shirt. [thumbs up]

I would hope so. Please tell us you were going to wear pants too.

Rick,

You could always wear your grilling outfit.  [big grin]

Well, if you want to take that chance around power tools......go right ahead.

Point taken. Always a safety concern around power tools. I'll come properly attired. Jeez you'd think you write tool owners manuals or something. Safety this and safety that  [poke].

Hey just wondering, if I could order some Festool hats for the $14.00 list price is anyone interested? I'm not in to FOG stuff. Hardly anyone knows Festool let alone FOG.

Maybe ordering in the Tape measure mm/inch - #495415?

They might not be on sale but they are not normally stocked.

Please post here if interested or you have any other ideas.

Cheers,
Steve
