That's funny. I was clicking "send" on the PM to tell you the hats arrived, at the exact second the email notification came in for your posting.

Steve I'm in for a CMS-GE if can pull that off.  [big grin]

Not a problem..... can I have your CC? Would you like a Syslite with that?  [poke]

Cheers,
Steve

Can we get a roll call of who is going to show up for a Friday Sept. 21 @ 7 pm  get-together with Festool?  I don't want to waste the time of Danny and Steve if it is only me and one other.

Please post if you plan on attending.

subtext.... Midwest people have very hard time committing to breathing let alone being seen in public. Really, listen to Prairie Home Companion... and you will understand  that staring at each others shoes is a respected skill.

Come on... Stop staring at your shoes and post.... [dead horse]

Cheers,
Steve

As it turns out, my dad will be out of town on Friday, so I was going to grab my son Tanner from school and bring him. He's never been to this show (Oh, I guess he has never even been to 7corners before. That will be quite the treat for him. He's never seen a store like this before.).

I'll be wearing a Festool Polo shirt, and Peter was kind enough to send me a couple FOG hats so I didn't look like an idiot wearing both a Festool shirt and hat at the same time. Tanner will probably wear either the other FOG hat or one of my Festool hats (his choice).

About the only way this would go south is if we have bad weather on Friday. If that happens, then I would have to re-evaluate going, because I don't really need anything and am just attending for the heck of it.
Tool shows just aren't as much fun when you don't need anything.  [tongue] About the only thing I can think of is that I wouldn't mind having a new set of higher-quality drill bits.

If I can remember it, I may try to have at least one set of my guides in the motorcycle in case someone wants to see one or even buy one.

The best I can give you is that there's a 50/50 chance I'll be there Friday afternoon through the evening and heading back out before daybreak Saturday - a lot of variables that must first play out through the week before I know if I'll be attending or not.

Like Rick, I don't really need anything either, but would like to see the CMS up close and personal again before I decide to purchase - hanging out with a few fellow FOGers Friday evening would be a bonus.

I will be there  Friday 7pm if you want to meet . I do not have any Festool-wearables but I will be in touch with Danny during the show & wil let him know of my availability.

Steve as much as I had planned on being there I have turned my week over to chaos and mayhem  [mad]. Maybe next time. Thanks for all the help off line with accommodations etc.

TIM

I too have decided not to attend - I'd rather avoid the 6 hour drive in the forecasted rain/sleet.  Maybe next year.

Weather permitting I will be there and I will be dragging one of my friends with that doesn't have Festool yet, he's already hooked lets see if we can't dig his hole a little deeper.

Just an update.

Danny and Steve are Presenting some great Demos at the show. I learned a lot!!!

At the end of the day Friday, many of us went over to the local pub - mcgoverns.com‎ and enjoyed great; conversation, food, drinks and more laughter than anyone else in the place. It was a great time!

We also had the great pleasure of meeting the Better half of Danny.... Dan's wife joined us. All of us concurred that Danny is one heck of salesman to attract such a wonderful, intelligent, beautiful and vibrant Lady!

It was a wonderful evening! I'm sorry for those that couldn't attend, as we were able to get into really detailed discussions about Festool but overall it was a group of friends having one great time!

Both Steve and Danny are great people to hang with, both are ROCK STARS as people and Festool employees.

Please know I'm still paying full price for everything Festool and enjoying it as it provides the Best ROI of any tools I have ever owned.

Cheers,
Steve

Wow I blew that opportunity. I haven't been on FOG lately do to other commitments. I stopped by Seven Corners on Friday just to checkout the show. I saw Rick Christopherson at Seven Corners as well, but had no idea you guys were having an gathering that was open to anyone interested in Festool. I may have tagged along.

I am thankful that I got to see you, Danny and Steve B. on Saturday. Danny and Steve are always open to showing new ways to use Festool tools. I don't know how they do it day in and day out, but no matter what the question, they answer it fully and to understanding. They always seem happy to do so. With this kind of support, I am more than thankful that I've invested in the tools that I currently have. I will not blink at purchasing more Festools when I have the opportunity.
I might need a winning lottery ticket to get to Rick Christopherson's ownership level though.

Thanks to you as well Steve. It's always nice to meet someone that is also willing to freely share knowledge in a friendly manner.

I'm bummed out to hear this. I assume you are "Chris" in real life. I was wondering why you didn't join us. I never realized it was because no one told you!!!

You're one of the nicest people I have ever met, and I would have been thrilled that you had joined us. Even my son Tanner remembered you quite well.

I wouldn't make this offer to just anyone, but if you bring me a good beer, I'll let you play around with the CMS in my shop. You're fun to chat with. I was disappointed that you didn't join us for dinner. I kept looking around to see if you were on your way behind us. Very bummed!!!! [unsure]

Yes, that's me. Thanks for the offer. Still trying to clear time to practice all that Steve Bace taught in his intro to Festool and cabinet making classes in August.

We are truly fortunate to have access to a company that believes in a above and beyond customer service approach.

Hopefully I'll be in the market early 13'. Maybe then it would be fruitful to see the CMS again.

Again thanks for the offer. You have a wonderful son. I can easily see him doing great things in the future.

Cheers!

Whoa!!! Do you honestly expect me to wait until 2013 for a beer? That ain't gonna happen......unless you were referring to military time of 20:13 hours. That I can accept. [tongue]

If you're gonna wait until the year 2013, then you better bring a case of beer and a stretcher, because I'll be pretty parched by then.  [blink]

I would hope so. Please tell us you were going to wear pants too.

Rick,

You could always wear your grilling outfit.   [big grin]

Peter

But ONLY if he shaves his legs...  [eek]

Ron, you're a little scary, but I suppose if you toss enough beers at me I won't notice that you're staring at my hairy legs.

[scared] [scared] [scared] [scared]

hehehehehe

Unfortunately I won't be there to see that spectacle (the photo Laurie took is still burned into my brain [sad]) -- I just have  concern for others that are there so they wouldn't hurl for the wrong reason.  [embarassed]
