  Wanted to ask all of you before I placed an order. Numerous times I've run into needing parts longer than what the fence on the MFT is capable of. I was thinking of just ordering the left wing UG extension so I can easily increase the capacity but I wanted to ask a few questions first;

1: Will the wing fit on the mft3?

2: The current fence extends past the mft table, so do you just cut it off to line up with the fence on the extension in order to keep using the stop?

3: how long does the extension go, it looks like there's and extension inside the extension?

Thanks in advance gang

I don't know the answer to your MFT questions but the UG extensions do include an extension within the extension and the total reach per side is 2400mm (94.5")

The wings fit the MFT-3 and CMS. I did relieve the thumb knobs to make install a little easier.

Yes- the UG extensions work on the MFT as well- part of the beauty of the Festool 'system'.  I have seen posts on here where the left and right extensions are used on the same side of the MFT to provide support for wider boards, although I have yet to have a need to try this.  They connect/disconnect easily and save time- I'd recommend if you can afford it, to get the set of left and right extensions as you will find a need for them both.

Hi Tom,
Yes- exactly!  Must have been your post that I remember.  Thanks also for the idea on using them on the CMS- I don't know why but I never thought of that.  Duh.  [embarassed]

Also: systainers can be stacked to the exact height of the MFT/3 should you have big workpieces that need additional support.
