Ok...it may be because I'm distracted by the RYDER CUP just starting on the final singles matches now on tv..(just a 10min drive away from me :-) but I've got a problem and need clarification.
On Friday took another big gulp and purchased new Vecturo set and new UG stand for kapex.
Vecturo looks and performs great especially the plunge attachment etc but I've got a problem with the stand.
My kapex was on a dewalt stand and legs so didn't get round to assembling it on UG until this morning. All went well getting it mounted and I was sorting out how to put it up and down to suit me etc.
The problem I've got is when I went to calibrate the onboard measure etc. when I pulled out the extension legs (the bits that slide out from approx 1600-2400) mine would appear to be round the wrong way. Standing at the kapex my left hand extension tape goes out to approx 1600 but when I pull out the extension it's shows 1600 at the very end and 2400 against the end of the first support??
The right hand extension is exactly the same but opposite hand.
Surely Festool haven't built up the stand in the factory, got through the inspection process etc with the wrong extension slide in the wrong side.
I think it's an easy enough job to swap over (end caps off etc) but wondered if I'm not missing something because im distracted with the Ryder cup?
Sorry no photos as first tee shots are away.
Come on Europe....ole, ole, ole, ole.....
Thanks
Scott

It's designed that way - simply align the extension with the end of the first extrusion, ie. to set the end stop to 1700mm, pull the extension out until the 1700 mark is aligned with the end (so pulled out approx. 100mm).

Hard to describe, but easy to do!

Thanks for the reply.
I popped back out to the workshop after your message...
I see what's what now!
The dealt stand was all support for the timber but the UG is slightly different.
The first extension is support and the flag stop slides along. The second extension is not support but allows a stop to be referenced at the end of the first extension cause the flag stop doesn't!

Thanks JRB

No problem. You might want to check this thread of mine - shows you how to check/calibrate the rulers on the extensions.

Did you get a good deal Scott?
That hose I bought was non AS and tapered. I'm an idiot, obviously up too late at night and not paying attention.  [huh]

Got a good deal from Barry at Alloa.
As you know I've purchased all my Festool tools from him and get great service.
He won't compete with the big online boys but it's service in after and haven't bren disappointed.
Sorry to hear about the hose!
It won't go wrong somewhere in sure.
How's the "700"?

I've only used it to do little test pieces but I've got a wee oak cabinet/notice board to make so I'll get it used in anger soon.
