No ,not double[especially Makita  [smile]] but that's the point I'm making. The prices have been held artificially high and now it looks like they're gonna find a real base.

I agree, maybe 10-15% more but no more than that..

John...

And can you get the same level of knowledge and customer service from makita or dewalt like you get from Festool? Nope you can't! That's why I have no problem paying there prices. But im not saying I wouldn't like them a bit cheaper. Of course I would and can probably say the same for others as well

what knowledge do you need from Festool? I have used there customer service once and it was terrible..

John..

i wonder can we dare to hope that mafell prices will come down as well?,fingers crossed!

I wonder how long it will take before, some one trys to go after Festool for a refund on the illegal prices we have had to pay up till now? [smile]

Any chance of 20% off protool as well? If you don't ask, you don't get  [big grin]

I voted price match, which I think Warren was doing anyway. I've been more than happy with the service that I've had from bunny's / toolfest, and assuming they can still make a living price matching other companies then that is good enough for me.

How could you price match when all the dealers had to sell them at a set price ???

john...

correct me if i am wrong here but if you reduce your prices at 20% does that then mean that someone who is vat registered will technically be getting a total of 40% OFF, that would be a huge saving , looks to me as a sort of vat free for all. or am i totally missing the point here?. also if someone came to you with a £50 voucher would you still be inclined to give the 20% off plus the voucher or would tts UK insist the product be what they would see as not selling at their full retail price , if retailers do indeed start to drop their prices do you think tts UK would stop doing these promotions and vouchers in the future ? don't get me wrong i would welcome some sort of discount but i would not like to see this all end up going into free fall by that i mean to say less shops and more on line company's where you get some one who knows zilch about the products they sell, just my thoughts on the matter, green.

The £50 voucher  is Festools Discount not the Dealers.  The Dealers give you the £50 off and then Festool gives the dealer £50  so the Dealer can STILL give you 20% of AND voucher and not loose any more money on the sale.

Do you ship to France?  [tongue]

Hi Nigel

If you message me with your requirements I'll get one of my colleagues to get you a shipping quote, however we haven't decided about the disount yet!

Best regards

Warren
Hi Warren.

Just for interest, I know that Festool can't stop you (if you want to) shipping within the EC due to EC law. However sipping to country's out side the EC was a big no no.
That is not to say that some dealers didn't do it anyway but it had to be a secret.

Has that changed? Or are sales still supposed to be restricted to EC only?

Hey jmb I tried your theory about the £50. Voucher and a product being marked down by 15% and guess what no can do was the reply I got due to the fact that the tool in question was already discounted , unless you have a very accommodating supplier ? Although I must say looking at the amount you spend on tools you must be on the Christmas list and the company's night out lol . All the best green .

Hi Jerome

Until recently we hadn't shipped FESTOOL outside of the UK, a combination of problems with carriers losing parcels and lack of clarity on our part about where we should ship deterred us from entertaining the idea. I was aware of other dealers shipping overseas though and if they can make it work then good for them.

If we get an enquiry we would treat it on it's own merits and weigh up the pro's and con's of entering into the transaction. We have successfully shipped to some exotic locations and customers have been happy. Some customers use shipping agents in the UK, which saves us a huge amount of work and seems to work very well for the customer too. The biggest question for us though would be can we reliably ship to the customer for a reasonable cost.

I have a meeting on Wednesday with FESTOOL, I'll try and remember to ask the question about Non-EC countries and report back.

Best regards

Warren

I can report a 100% success rate on shipping gear from the UK, France and Germany from Amazon, Axminster and a variety of German tool vendors to Finland at very reasonable shipping & handling costs (typically 15€ flat rate for heavier tools, 0€ for Amazon). I for one would like to be able to purchase Festool kit from you guys.

The international parcel carriers like DHL, EMS and DPD as well as Fedex seem to work well. Some are more flexible with delivery hours (outside of 8-16) than others at this end but all are workable. All deliver to work reception with the receptionist signing for the package.

Same here. Had loads of stuff shipped UK to France and never had any bother.

Well thats very odd.  Im pretty sure its festool who take the £50 hit not the dealer.  Actually 100% sure.  Cus I know when I bought some tools with the £50 voucher my dealer said he had to send the voucher off to get festool to discount the tool.

So unless Festool have told the Dealers if your lowering the price of the tools we wont let you use the £50 voucher to discount more?!?!?!

Hey jmb I looked at the price of the drill 18v 3ah set £451. Inclusive , I have never used the company before but they have been around over twenty years + , and they are selling the plus with a free forstner set , I haven't seen anyone else near those prices , not sure on the voucher side from festool , I am off to my local dealer to pick up a couple of syslights and a new plane and another midi so those vouchers will be used for me and I will ask the shop how they sort the vouchers with tts Uk .
