UK 2014 Interactive Catalogue in IBook

Does anyone know how the Festool UK interactive catalogue can be saved on an IPad as an IBook?

Thanks Peter, I think that's the problem, it appears not to be. [unsure]

It takes for ages to DL and has its own controls on the web browser (Safari). Hence the save in IBook link will not come up.
 
Would you post a link to the interactive catalog please?

Well that does explain it - hope this is not a Festool trend with all their publications.

Given Apples Market share, Festool Marketing (at least in UK) needs to reconsider this publication formatt.

If it becomes an international move by Festool marketing it could have serious repercussions for Festool because their two best customers, Kev and SittingElf, are known to be Apple fanatics!  [big grin] [big grin]
 
I'm not sure if this was a Festool UK endeavor or something headed by Germany. Either way, these types of Flash-based catalog always fail miserably. People just don't like the format in general, I guess. I have seen so many companies try to use this technology over the years and it never takes off. So, I wouldn't worry about it being a trend too much.

A couple of years ago I decided to try to do an an enhanced newsletter for a client or my non-contractor company.  I used Adobe Insight.  By the end, to finish the pummeling I got from all the different devices and browser version, I had to create 6 different versions and the most popular was a plane old PDF.

Flash usage today in my opinion is for companies who are trying to mold the customer to their web content versus molding their content to what are the customer's demands.

Five years ago, you had to use Flash or something similar to accomplish many things like animations, interactivity and sophisticated interfaces. Nowadays, there's plenty of standardize options supported by all major browsers for these types of tasks. So, the reliance on Flash is dwindling. Not to mention the device compatibility issues, as mentioned.
