Woo hoo, just arrived

Retirement for the old one on the bench, and the new one comes with a moulded plug [emoji3]

Is anything happening?  Just had phonecall from FedEx asking if they want to retry delivery on the TWO items they tried delivering yesterday. Delivery guy only brought in one which I declined. Please sort this out as it's getting boring now. Please

Okay, just to clarify, we do see this quite alot. Some machines like the extractor you have ordered are converted for use in the UK from German specs. This means that they have to have the plug and sockets changed. This is done at Festool UK on the way from Germany. The socket always looks okay but yes the Euro plug is chopped off and a wired plug fitted. As far as I know the moulded plug lead is never an option, so you could send it back but you'll only get the same.

There are only a few machine like this, a few of the extractors are one and Planex's in 240v too I think.

I will work perfectly.

Best regards

Warren

I have a GB spec CTL26 and a CTL Midi and both came with a moulded plug, actually I often use mine in an IP66 rated box and the lid won't close because the moulding on the plug/cord gets in the way.

My lungs can't wait any longer for an answer so I'll start using as is- if festool decide at a later date to 'repair' it properly I'm gonna need one sending out to use while this one gets fiddled with.
Ed you mention in your post on ukw that I need to use the bag regardless,  (even for just fine sanding dust) but the manual says to only use the ac function when using a 'disposal bag' which I think is just an open topped bin liner type thing. I can't make head or tail of it [emoji1]

Not sure what to think about today's delivery. I haven't ordered anything.

Couple of shirts, hoody,  pens pencils and a little systainer thing and a mug. Perhaps it's a freebie for the mix up, perhaps it's meant for ffx- who knows [emoji3] festool, please collect as I don't think it's meant for me - I only accepted the delivery cause the parcel label showed the same extractor model number I'd ordered.
Thanks

Fit the bag that came with it before you use it. The bag acts as the primary filter, that way the actual filter lasts a lot lot longer.

When refering to a disposable bag they mean the normal bag (the  alternative is the longlife fabric bag - best used for chips rather than dust)

That looks like a "sorry" parcel to me.

Yes, I suspect it is a few freebies to apologise for the mix up,

I have all of those apart from a cup, and you never mentioned the sweets, they are lovely!

I suspect Phil will be along in a minute or so to confirm.

Thanks for that CrazyLarry/Ed I put the supplied bag in, just wasn't 100% sure if I could use the ac function with it. I'm thinking of making some kind of trolley for it with auto open blastgate. At the moment I'm just getting use to it not being under the bench

have got it temporarily on the trolley.
Wuffles, Closer inspection shows its also got the serial number of the machine on the shipping ticket so perhaps it is an apology parcel !!?!?!! I messaged Phil earlier so hopefully he'll let me know one way or another [emoji6]

Nice apology package!  ;D
I never got that when the same happened to my extractor *cry's*  [big grin]

That seems like a lot of swag over a plug mix up!
You should see some of the howlers I've had to deal with and not even a pencil as way of an apology.  Good luck to you.

When I originally found I had the wrong plugs I first contacted festooluk via the contact form (3.30 am) with a link to the forum showing the pictures, then after the advice here contacted ffx who swiftly started things in motion. It's my understanding they should be aware of the thread- after all I posted a link to it in the contact page ! It'd be good for clarification from a festool employee either way [emoji6]

Hi
I have asked and am awaiting a reply - internet and computer issues prevented earlier contribution to this.
I also asked for the name to be removed as employees have no right of automatic reply to the forum. Will get back when I receive a reply on the extractor.

Phil, any update with this please? It'll be 10 days tomorrow when you last posted. I really don't understand how things can take soooooooooooooo long !!! Does anybody know what's going on ? I want to start enjoying the rest of  what the forum has to offer but this is really starting to go on. The last parcels still here waiting to be collected or whatever else is meant to happen to it. I nearly rejected one of my own festool orders from nuts and bolts the other day, so this is really starting to cause issues/confusion/uneeded hassle.
Phil with the greatest of respect, please shake a leg [emoji6]

Hi
I have been travelling either M25 or via airports so have been away from the forum lately. I did pass this on 10 days back and have again this afternoon.
Also sent a PM to you

Hi 'Chewy'
I hear the office have now called and I hope this has been resolved. Any further issues please let me know.

I am still away with very limited access to the forum but will try and look in as and when I can.

FedEx chap forgot collection yesterday but rang to say he'd be collecting today- just thought I'd keep you updated (I think he would have came back if I'd insisted, but I thought an extra day wouldn't make much difference)

Sorry to drag up an old thread but thought I'd update it.
Vac seems to be doing a good job of collecting the fine dust and now only beeps when the bags full !
Despite it only living in the workshop and having a gentle life, I noticed this the other day.

Not sure how it could have happened.

Looks like the plug clamp marks were on the wires and not the outer bit, so guess the outer bit slid back.
It's sorted now.

For site work where the vac may get more used and abused I'd definitely say a moulded plug is a must !

Cheers
