UK price increase?

Hi Warren.
Are there financial penalties to ship to an IV postcode (mainland)

Thanks

Richard

Good Morning

List prices are nearly always adjusted on the 1st of January every year. Many have gone up by a few percent, some much more, see my post on the Edge Bander. Some have been reduced, like the T 18 cordless drills, partly for a realignment of the whole cordless range.

The cordless range is also subject to a dealer offer at the moment so look out for some very special pricing, for the SET, PLUS and new BASIC versions. The BASICs are available across the whole range, consisting of machine body only in a Systainer and are very good value. Our offerings are here:

http://www.toolfest.co.uk/quick-search?terms=cordless%20basic

Also batteries and chargers have been reduced in price by nearly half making it far less painful to add an extra battery to a cordless kit, my next job is to add the batteries to our website, when I do, I'll post a link. In theory there should be no disadvantage to buying a BASIC machine, charger and battery, instead of a PLUS or SET version. I haven't done the maths yet but this is what I understand is the intention.

Dealers are also free to set there own pricing so do hunt around for good deals, overstocks, older versions, drives to hit sales targets etc mean dealers can be keen to shift stock at 'silly' prices sometimes. As we saw with TTS themselves and the PDC drill there are some really good deals out there if you can find them.

Best regards

Warren

[off topic]

Warren i know you are using the details as supplied by Festool. A suggestion here might be to alter the titles of some of the listings.

FESTOOL 500781 Cordless Impact Drill QUADRIVE PDC 18/4

This is adding to the  confusion with newbies thinking Festool make/ made different impact drills.  I do realise Festool themselves probably call it an impact due to the hammer mode on it. I'm just wondering if it can be explained to Festool germany about this by Phil/ Shane etc  [wink]

The area of Hammer, Impact, Percussion is a pet topic of mine and believe me when ever i see it i email for a correction. The descriptions are a lot better but on occasions a translation issue creeps in

It looks like the dealer took the liberty of changing it to "Impact Drill". On the Festool UK website, it's listed as a percussion drill.

https://www.festool.co.uk/Products/Pages/Product-Detail.aspx?pid=500781&name=Cordless-percussion-drills-PDC-18-4-Li-Basic

It does say in the description that it's an "axial impact", or hammer is what I would say.

Thanks guys.  I think Warren should go sit on the naughty step for a few days.  ;D

Mmmmm, not sure how to handle this one.

We don't use the Festool website to collate our descriptions, we use a data file supplied by Festool as pointed out by 'carlb', and for this product guess what? It's called "Cordless Impact PDC 18/4 Li Basic". We then cross check with the printed price list if we are unsure about a description but I haven't got one to hand (although I think it says the same). I will check in the morning and report back though.  ;-)

However, the description in my mind is wrong. We always used to call these types of drills "Combi Drills" which helped to differentiate them from Percussion Drills, and I'm happy to change our description now just for fun. Take a look.

I'll amend the descriptions properly tomorrow.

Can I get off the naughty step now?  ;D

Taking a liberty, I ask you.....Shane, on the step, now!

Good Evening

Warren

I bought one a year ago and it was described as impact then, which confused me, (easily done) fortunately the FOG cleared it up for me.  [big grin]

Good Morning

More confused as the printed price list uses both terms.  ::)
