Undecided on impact driver

I purchased a Ti15 recently. Been needing an impact driver and shopped around. Probably would have gone with one of the popular brands since the $:performance ratio is so skewed with the Festool driver but it was worth it to me to be able to exchange batteries/drill accessories  between my c12 and syslite. YMMV

Btw, I also have always used my c12 with my index finger pointed. Except when I'm drinking tea and drilling. Then I extend my pinkie.

The Hilti SID18 is the one they loaned us. It is actually 21.6v since it has 6 cells unlike the 18v Lithium tools that have 5. Sounds like they call it 22v elsewhere, which is why it is a SID 22. 5x3.6v=18v, 6x3.6v=21.6v

Of course Dewalt lies and calls their 18v Lithium tools 20v. So Hilti is actually making a very powerful 18v impact by giving it 21.6v and Dewalt is just exaggerating since "20v" must sound better if you don't know the truth.

You guys are going to make me go play with a C12 & C15 again. I loved my CXS so much I went looking for a similar drill with more power and played with all the drills so long the salesmen were starting to think I was nuts or something. I finally bought the T15 and think it is about all the power you want without a side handle.

LOL!  What a classic!

Dewalt isn't necessarily lying, under no load it's at 20 v, under load it's at 18. The main reason they call it 20v Max is not to just attract the uninformed consumer, but to not confuse people with three different types of 18v batteries.  Everyone knows what the 20 volts are and it will never be confused with the other two 18volts  they have said they will continue to sell.

I'm no fan of Dewalt however I do agree with Jaybolishes here. The new 20v driver and drill are very nice tools. My business partner has a combo set and we have used them almost exclusively since last spring. Great balance ,great speed, and great power. That said I am a huge fan of bosch and will probably buy their new brushless set when it arrives. The Festool Ti 15 is a good example of a tool that tries to do too many things and does none of them particularly well.
