I just returned from the local HD and noticed they had their portable Universal Saw thingie (I forget what they call it) on sale for $99.00; the original price was $169.00.  The ones I saw on sale looked like the newer model that came out just last year.

I bought one when they first came out and mounted my 12" DeWalt SCMS and I like it very much.  It's a bit heavy but the wheels are big and I can haul the DeWalt just like I am moving a hand-truck.  Even though I am a DIY'er, whenever the saw is not in use, it stays upright sitting in the corner waiting for me to return.  When I need it, just wheel it to where I will be working, raise the platform, plug in and go...

It includes two side extensions and universal saw mounts.  For the price, I do not think it can be beat.

I live in Marlton, NJ and the store I saw the sale at was in Berlin.  That said, if one HD has it one sale, perhaps the others do as well.

The usual disclaimers apply.

Talking about deals, here is a sweet little deal from Rockler:

Nickao

That is a deal!

If I didn't have everything already, I would probably jump on it.  About the only thing I need in that category is the Senco 23 gauge pin nailer (I forget the model #).

Hmmm... However, I think I know who I can pass this along to...

Thanks.

I know nothing about Grex.  Would you, or someone else, care to enlighten me?

I mention the Senco because I played with one at JLC last weekend and I liked the feel, the heft, the built-in safety (unlike Grip Rite's offering) and the fact that I could drive many different lengths of 23 gauge into hardwoods.

GreenGA,  I bought the same one a couple of years ago...same deal $99.  Went in for a box of screws and saw it while I was standing in line.  It's great!

If yours is a couple of years old, it may not be the exact same one.  If the one on sale is like mine, I think it only came out sometime last summer.  I bought the prior one about a month before this one came out, for $99.00.  When I found out the differences, I took the first one back and bought the newer version.

That said, the first one was nice, sturdy and could do the job.  I just happened to like, and needed, the larger wheels and different mounting platform on the one I have.

Right now, I mentally playing with the idea of a couple of "holsters" for the thing so I can carry a couple of extensions along with the saw.
