I've often fancied starting a thread about unusual woodworking power tools: ie tools which are new to a large proportion of the FOG community, perhaps because they are specialised, or because that sort of thing isn't marketed in their country.

Prompted by recent mention of the Bosch GTM12 combination saw, which looks like a mitre saw with a small table added on top, I though I'd start this thread with some other combination saws available here in the UK. Click on the images to go to the dealer's page, where you'll get more information.

Similar to the Bosch, there is the Fox F36-077 10" model, at about 200 GBP...

...and the SIP 03901 10"model at about 164 GBP:

A different type of combination saw is the more expensive flip-over variety, where the saw unit can be rotated 180 degrees though a horizontal axis to present either a mitre saw or a table saw. This is the type favoured by DeWalt and  Makita, eg the 10" DeWalt DW743 at about 538 GBP:

(DeWalt also do this in 305mm (12") blade diameter, designated the D27105)

There's also the 250mm Metablo KGT501 at about 680 GBP:

And the 260mm Makita LF1000 at about 488 GBP:

More unusual tools to follow at random intervals...!
